Projects are focused efforts to improve or maintain a specific section of the GuildWiki. You do not need to be member of a project to work on the GuildWiki, nor are project members required to meet any expectations—projects are simply organizational tools to bring order to an otherwise chaotic medium.

[edit] Creating a project
Anybody can create a project.
- Create a new article in the GuildWiki namespace titled with the name of your project.
- For example, GuildWiki:Mesmer skills project could be a project to maintain the mesmer skill articles.
- Place this text at the bottom of the article, [[Category:Community projects]], to include the article in Category:Community projects.
- Add a row to the Active Projects table above, filling in the appropriate columns.
- Include in the project article the required sections (below).
- Add any appropriate recommended sections (also below).
[edit] Required sections
Include these sections for every project:
- Project description
- At the top, before any section headers.
- Progress check list
- The first section after the description. A table or bulleted list of goals for the project, allowing participants (and lurkers) to see how much has been done and what remains.
- Utility/Utilities
- Generally, the final section of the article. A catch all section for things that help everyone to use consistent formatting, language and maintain a high level of quality. This can include:
- Stub template specific to articles that fall under the project.
- Links to relevant style and formatting guidelines
- Templates that might be useful to editors contributing to the project
[edit] Recommended sections
These sections help others to join your project and track what is going on.
- Participants
- A userbox for members of the project
- To-do lists
[edit] Related projects
Include these sections as applicable, under the umbrella header of related projects:
- Parent projects (e.g.GuildWiki:Mesmer skills project would list GuildWiki:Skills project as its parent)
- Sibling projects (e.g. GuildWiki:Mesmer skills project would list GuildWiki:Monk skills project as related)
- Use parallel projects if there is no parent project.
- Child projects (e.g.GuildWiki:Skills project would list GuildWiki:Mesmer skills project as its child)
