Artificial intelligence

Jump to: navigation, search

Artificial intelligence (also known as AI) is a computer program's ability to interact intelligently with humans. In Guild Wars, AI refers to the behavior of any computer-controlled character in the game. This could include:

  • The AI of enemies: How enemies attack and how they react to attacks. Figuring out the monster AI is important for success in the PvE campaign.
  • The AI of allies: How computer controlled allies act and react. This is important to know in both PvP battles where there are allies to fight with and also in PvE to make the best use of henchmen.

In general, the AI of computer controlled characters in the game (and any game) is very predictable. After players deal with a creature a few times, they will be able to understand how it is programmed to behave. Still, ArenaNet tweaks the AI of different creatures now and then during game updates.
