Candy Cane Shards are salvage items dropped by all creatures during Wintersday. They also function like trophies in that there are a number of collectors who will trade them for various items.

Acquisition[edit | edit source]

Candy Cane Shards (often Shards or ccs) can be obtained only during Wintersday:

Finales[edit | edit source]

During each Wintersday finale (except 2005), Candy Cane Shards are used as betting currency in the Nine Rings game that decides the "winner" of Wintersday, Grenth or Dwayna.

Collectors[edit | edit source]

Summary:

  • 9 Candy Cane Shards can be traded for a primary Candy Cane Weapon;
  • 12 shards can be traded for an off-hand Candy Cane Weapon;
  • 5 shards can be traded for a Wintersday Gift (one collector).

  • The official Guild Wars website says that it's best to keep your candy cane shards until the finale to decide the Winner, Dwayna or Grenth.

Historical note.png Historical note: At one time, weapons could be traded at one of the Candysmiths, and Shields and Focus, at Candysmith Marley.
