Bow pages[]

Unlike the bows from EotN there are different skins for the Short/Recurve bows and the Long/Flat/Horn bows for each of the four scribes/collectors (ie Norn bows all use the same skin, regardless of what type of bow it is). Because of this, I think that something like "Undead Bow" is a little lacking, and that each bow type will need their own page, or at least a page for each skin. Anyone agree/disagree? Perrsun 17:57, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Or put 2 screens on one page. Like Droknars Bow, iirc. --- VipermagiSig -- (s)talkpage 18:04, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Id agree with that. since the only difference is the appearance. Collate all the bows being put up into "Mursaat Bow" "Undead Bow" "Tengu Bow" and "Charr Bow" maybe, with different images for the skins. Considering other than that, everything else is the same. I dno what rules would apply, its just an opinion - Xav 18:18, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Players without the mission pack?[]

So, can these quest items be traded to players without the mission pack so that they can have an item for themselves? It just sucks that they're customized right away. They're tryin' to keep poor folk down that couldn't afford $30 in their store.

I highly doubt ANet is trying to keep "people who can't afford 30$ in their store" down. They don't have a huge money income like WoW, 'cause they don't charge a monthly fee. Imho, a monthly fee is more "keeping poor people down" than a one-time 30$. Also, please sign your comments on talk pages with either the Button sig button, or with ~~~~. :) --- VipermagiSig -- (s)talkpage 08:36, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
I will have to agree with Vipermagi on this one. They came up with a way to make a little more cash. They didn't try to keep the 'poor man' down like the other agencies (gov't) do :) The items are personalized so they can only be used on that charc or his/her heros. Although some of them do look cool there is nothing special about them. Cronus 08:42, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Ok, that was just me being frustrated with not having any money at the time. But my most important question, is can the quest items to be traded to get the rewards: Can they be traded to other players? It's the only way I can think of for people without the bonus mission pack to get these weapons. -Edit I just found out the quest rewards are customized for the character who receives them. Darn, I guess it's time for me to go look at other weapons. --68.229.221.134 10:47, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Walorski

Upgradeable?[]

I know that these items have an empty inscription slot. Is it also possible to add corresponding upgrades (string, hilt, wrapping, etc.) to them? Jkr Frostty1 18:49, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Ofc --- VipermagiSig -- (s)talkpage 18:51, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Pardon? What does "Ofc" mean? Jkr Frostty1 19:37, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Of Course. --Warwick sig Warwick (Talk) (Contr.) 19:38, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Ah... Thanks Warwick. Vipermagi, please leave comprehensible responses that everyone can understand. Jkr Frostty1 23:26, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

BUG[]

Don't know how/where to put this on the wiki, but at least the Mursaat scythe, and probably others, although they are customised, can be put in the trade window. As other customised items cannot be put in the trade window - this is a serious target for scams and abuse, yes? So where should I/someone else put it? On the item pages themselves or what. And sorry, don't have a picture *box* 80.176.145.76 22:43, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

I thought all customized weapons/armor could still be traded?--Chris1645 22:44, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
o_O They couldn't a while back... *more box* Update link please? 80.176.145.76 22:47, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
They can all be traded. If you trade one, you get a message you probably won't be able to wield it cause it's customized. If anyone gets scammed this way, they are absolutely blind. --- VipermagiSig -- (s)talkpage 22:48, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Meh >.<
Can I just sort of, delete this section then? :s I feel a right dumbass now. 80.176.145.76 22:50, 2 December 2007 (UTC) 22:50, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Nope, sorry. Only if this was your talkpage, you may have removed it. But hey, I look like a dumbass alot, and I'm still alive! --- VipermagiSig -- (s)talkpage 22:51, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
You're an IP, nobody knows who you are anyway :) --Shadowcrest 22:51, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Quickly, make an account and cover your tracks ;) --- VipermagiSig -- (s)talkpage 22:52, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Salvaging[]

When salvaging upgrades on these, is it like when one salvages a rune from hero armor? In other words, is there no chance of losing another mod on the item? Trobinson97 18:53, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

They can break, if you open the salvage menu it will show your chance of breaking. Phlanx 18:59, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Whoever designed the Tengu equipment...[]

Should be lead equipment designer for Guild Wars 2. I can only hope that we see more items like this in Guild Wars 2, and less like this. --70.58.198.147 06:08, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Agreed the tengu weapons rock, and hard -Meridan 07:17, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

I don't think it's a stretch to say...[]

that the Tengu weapons are based off a Protoss design from Starcraft. Not only do they look like it, especially the hammer, but if I recall correctly ArenaNet was founded by 2 or 3 former members of Blizzard, so it wouldn't be surprising.

Ah, I think you're right. The blue crystal embedded in the yellow metal really makes me think of protoss structures (especially the Nexus and Fleet Beacon). I'll ask Emily if that was inspiration (although they might be required to say no, it wouldn't hurt to ask). -Auron 11:24, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
