Summary
Expert Salvage Kits are functionally identical to normal Salvage Kits, except for the following benefits:
- Rare crafting materials can only be salvaged using Expert or Superior kits.
- Salvaging runes from armor and weapon upgrades require Expert or Superior kits. This is only necessary if you intend to use or sell the rune in the PvE game; to simply unlock the rune or upgrade, you just need to identify the item.

Where to Get It
Merchants in every town and outpost sell Expert Salvage Kits, except for Ascalon City. The closest place to Ascalon City selling Expert Salvage kits is The Great Northern Wall, which can be reached through a simple portal in the north-west corner of Ascalon City (without any fighting).
Both Imperial and Monastery Quartermasters offer Expert Salvage Kits as a reward for trading in 3 Imperial Commendations or Monastery Credits (respectively).
How To Use
Double-click the Expert Salvage Kit icon, (You will hear an unzipping sound) then click the item you wish to salvage. The item is then converted into crafting material, a weapon upgrade or a rune, whichever is applicable. The salvaged component will then appear in the first open slot in your inventory. If the salvage was crafting materials, they will stack with other existing materials in the inventory (up to 250 a stack). If no free spot is available, the item will not be salvaged and you will see a text message informing you of the situation.
