Bonfaaz Burntfur is one of the Charr generals in charge of the Charr army assaulting Ascalon. He also called forth the destructive magic of the Searing in the last cutscene of Pre-Searing Ascalon. In the Great Northern Wall mission, players are sent to scout for his forces and find out their plans. At the end of that mission, Bonfaaz launches his attack, takes over the wall, and begins to march upon Ascalon City. These forces are later repelled in the Fort Ranik mission.
Later on, Bonfaaz attempts to take over Ascalon's capital city, Rin, in the Nolani Academy mission. The final objective of this mission is to stop his forces and slay him. The rain caused by Stormcaller extinguishes the totemic fires of the Charr and weakens him and his forces enough to make the victory possible, scoring a major victory for Ascalon right after such a devastating event as the fall of Rin, and thus gaining the nation at least some measure of revenge at last for the Searing.
Going by the surname, its possible that Bonfaaz Burntfur and Hierophant Burntsoul were in the same shaman warband.
