Flaming Scepter Mage Danan is a member of the Flaming Scepter Mages, the order that runs the Nolani Academy.

- "Have you heard the news? We're saved! What's on your mind, friend?"
What news?
- "The artifact horn Stormcaller has been found! Were we inside the walls of Rin, there would be great rejoicing."
Stormcaller?
- "The mouthpiece of the legendary horn of King Doric. Surely you've seen the pipes of the horn itself up on Horn Hill, outside of Rin!"
Humor me.
- "The horn is a powerful weapon. They say that the sounds of the billowing pipes will render helpless the enemies of Ascalon. The mouthpiece was lost during the last Guild War, but now that it has been found it could help us defend the Capital against the Charr. The horn was placed outside of Rin long before the Great Northern Wall was even built. It was the last line of defense against invaders. I'm afraid it has come to that again. If only we'd found Stormcaller before the Searing."
What are we waiting for? Let's be off to Rin.
- "I couldn't agree with you more. But alas, though the gates of the academy are closed, a small army of Charr is mustered outside ready to sweep in and destroy us all.
- Prince Rurik and my brothers, the Flaming Scepter Mages, have managed to activate the old defenses of this place. They hold the Charr at bay with the charged magical obelisks near the gate. Still, things look bleak. Eventually there will be enough of those beasts to simply overrun us, then Stormcaller will once again be lost to us."
What must I do?
- "Prince Rurik knows a secret passage out of this academy. If you can sneak out and ambush the Charr, perhaps we'll make it out of this alive and return to Rin as heroes."
I won't let Stormcaller fall into enemy hands.
- "May Balthazar light your path. Go with speed."

- "It was here that word reached Prince Rurik of the discovery of the ancient artifact the Stormcaller, a great weapon of lore rumored to be able to defend all of Ascalon once activated. Rurik along with a small contingent of Flaming Scepter Mages are trapped behind the sealed doors of Nolani Academy with no clear passage to reach Rin and the mighty Stormcaller. As a small army of the Charr gathered outside of the sealed doors of the Academy preparing to storm the walls, Prince Rurik led a small group of heroes behind the Charr army to take them from behind and clear the passage to Rin. If you choose to enter this mission, you will witness Prince Rurik's attempt to disrupt the Charr army and open a passage to Rin where Stormcaller awaits."
