Forum:Community events
Following discussion in IRC, mainly between myself, mendel, and dr ishmael:
- Events will be created as subpages of Community news (might change to Community events) and transcluded on the main page with some DPL sorcery.
- To make creating event pages intuitive, we'll be using a "createbox" form that preloads the page of the specified name with a skeleton template.
- The template will include various parameters for necessary information, possibly with an infobox, such as
- Date and time
- Location and district
- Host and sponsors
- A graphic of some sort, either user-created or the in-game art of the location
- A gallery for screenshots, possibly a slideshow extension or widget
- Bonus idea- GuildWiki volunteer "photographers" who go to events to take screenshots and upload them here
- We'll be working on this template at Community news/Sandbox for the time being.

I suggest making the base page Event , redirect community event to it, and have the actual event pages be Event/Ele Fashion Show or Event/Cantha Rallye 2012 or whatever - easy to type, easy to remember. Having this in mainspace makes it turn up on default searches for matching words (having it in GuildWiki: space would not). Is that as it should be? --◄mendel► 23:41, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
