Problem With vandilism[edit source]

this is the first time i have tryed to submit a build on guildwiki and it says im blocked from editing because i did vandilism. I think its because someone was using my ip, because i have never edited anything before.please help me BMW 15:50, 3 September 2006 (CDT)

The blocked notice you received was most likely a temporary bug, seeing as you were able to put this message here. Simply try to submit your build again, and it should work. Sorry for the inconvenience! —Tanaric 16:01, 3 September 2006 (CDT)

ok thanx for the quick reply BMW 16:17, 3 September 2006 (CDT)

Actually i tried it again. I was attempting to use the sandbox to see how my build looked.aybe that was the problem? it said i was banned by lordbiro for editing things to say "poop". and it still doesnt work. :( BMW 16:23, 3 September 2006 (CDT)
If you can post on this talk page, you're not banned. Sorry about the bug, but there's nought I can do about it -- keep trying until it works. :) —Tanaric 18:41, 3 September 2006 (CDT)

Changed the IWAY build so it is current with the current build but it somehow got reverted? Stratton 07:26, 7 September 2006 (CDT)

It's my understanding that already-vetted builds require consensus on a talk page before any changes are made. Take your question there. —Tanaric 18:13, 7 September 2006 (CDT)

Problem submitting warrior build[edit source]

I have a problem with submitting my Warrior build. I cant seem to save the file on my comp as W/any_Adrenalin_Slasher, because of the / in the name. Can anyone help me?

There's no need to save any file on your computer. You can make all edits to GuildWiki directly on the web. —Tanaric 13:31, 3 September 2006 (CDT)

Vandalism notice[edit source]

Just lettin you know, someone has edited the armor types page and has left the following content: "hi"... --Aleski

A user named Stylva removed almost all armor icons. While I agree that some were incorrect or needed a cleanup, I wonder why the majority of all Faction armor icons got removed, including those who were correct in both format and whatsoever. --Long 11:55, 9 September 2006 (CDT)

I'm sorry to interfere, but I need an explanation, or a proof that I actually did so. I admit I may have done that, but not on purpose. I probably just didn't know it would result in a mass deletion then. Can I even, as a standard member, delete images from the wiki?
Again, I'm sorry if this caused you trouble. ― Stylva 13:54, 10 September 2006 (CDT)

Somebody has put obscene language in the skill description of Backbreaker, Backbreaker. Not sure how to fix it so letting somebody know who can.

protection request[edit source]

doesn't look like any admins are on - there is a User:Panther who keeps blanking his talk page (User talk:Panther) - it seems like we want to keep it - can you perform your evil admin magicks upon it? User:ST47(talk) 12:24, 4 August 2006 (CDT)

We have to honor his request. I moved the thread to the relevant talk page. No big deal. --Karlos 12:39, 4 August 2006 (CDT)

Game Request[edit source]

I was just wondering if there was any way to add a game to gamewikis.

I replied to this at User talk:Rizzen. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 16:30, 21 August 2006 (CDT)

Formatting Issue[edit source]

I'm not sure where to put this, so let anyone feel free to move it to the proper place. There seem to be some formatting errors in the entries for Dark Aura, Froth Stonereap and Dark Fang. I'm sorry, I don't know how to fix them. The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk • contribs) 17:51, August 6, 2006 (CDT).

Can you clarify the formatting issue that you're seeing? Which browser are you using? I just viewed the articles, and didn't see any obvious problems. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 21:05, 6 August 2006 (CDT)

hmmm, I don't see them anymore, either. I'm using IE6, and the errors were half a dozen sql errors and some problems in the style sheet, but I guess it's not a problem on those pages. Sorry

On another topic, I saw an add for (which sells gold, etc.) with a full size graphic in the left-hand space.

I'm not sure this is a formatting issue per say, but I just updated the Canthan Ascended Female Warrior armor image, and there is no link from the page to the JPEG image. If you click on the file's name, you get redirected to the image I uploaded, but it doesn't show on the armor's page. I'm sorry I can't provide you with the links to the appropriate pages (I don't know how). Thank you. (Correction: you don't get redirected to my uploaded image when you click on the file's name, but you can see it on top of the list of uploaded images) FallenShadows 14:58, 16 August 2006 (CDT)

FallenShadows, I've replied on your talk page. —Tanaric 16:32, 16 August 2006 (CDT)

Inappropriate Advert?[edit source]

I'm sorry about this but I was just a little unsure so I thought I better post it somewhere, but I didn't know where. I'll have to be quick cus I've got to go out in 10 secs lol so on the google sponsers to the left hand side of this page I didn't think that there were supposed to be ads to things like "buy guild wars money". As I've said not completly sure about all the rules but thought I should say somet anyway. Here's the google link location that I copied ... I think. -- Monk Saintly Monk 03:26, 17 August 2006 (CDT)

You should give Gravewit a note. He can block specific google ads. I've been irritated by the too. --Gem-icon-sm.png (talk) 05:31, 17 August 2006 (CDT)
I have no concerns, but I find it odd that in the months that this ad discussion has come and gone and come again, I have never seen one ad on Wiki. I see them all the time on Gurus though. That's with my work laptop, home pc, and work pc. Weird... -Gares 08:25, 17 August 2006 (CDT)

jus:In the left bar, under the search box there is a text 'sponsors' and a google ads box. --Gem-icon-sm.png (talk) 08:33, 17 August 2006 (CDT)

Someone posted about it at User_talk:Gravewit#GW_gold_ads on Tuesday; but the thread used was buried up a bit in his talk page - you may want to start a new thread at the bottom of his page mentioning it. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 09:09, 17 August 2006 (CDT)
@ Gem, nope. Never had ads there. Just been lucky I guess. -Gares 10:07, 17 August 2006 (CDT)
Lucky? It's there all the time. Between the search box and the toolbox. --Gem-icon-sm.png (talk) 10:10, 17 August 2006 (CDT)
My security filters now block those ads from displaying - so I don't see them either. I used to see them, but an update some time ago took them off my screen. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 11:08, 17 August 2006 (CDT)
I asked Gravewit to check these out, and they should be blocked shortly. —Tanaric 11:28, 17 August 2006 (CDT)
Gem, I have no clue what you are seeing. As Barek mentioned, the ads can be blocked from displaying. I don't know why I have never seen them, probably because all my computers use maximum security configurations. Yes, I know, between the search box and the toolbox. :P Said it before you'd say it a third time. Gotcha ;) -Gares 13:46, 17 August 2006 (CDT)
:D Sorry. --Gem-icon-sm.png (talk) 14:24, 17 August 2006 (CDT)

Funding? Guild Wiki Shop[edit source]

I see that some other guild wars pages are funding themselves by selling GW:Nightfall... If I am going to support a web page in that way, I prefer it will be this one! Is there a place to do that? if not can someone set that up?

That's a good idea, and it's something we've done in the past. I'll forward this suggestion on to Gravewit. —Tanaric 10:55, 31 August 2006 (CDT)

New Skin Hand Axe[edit source]

Noticed that the new skin of the hand axe wasn't added, and still haven't gotten used to how to edit and add things... but it's here. Image:New_Hand_Axe.jpg

Help with a build issue[edit source]

Hey, just a quick question. My build, [A/W Critical Flash|Critical Flash], got modified by a random anon and had several skills and attributes changed. I feel that one of the skills is valid, and attributes tend just to be a matter of person opinion, but his/her changes mess up the usage info and change the idea of the build. So my question is this: Can I just role back the history, and then add his/her changes that fit the build to the variants section?--Azroth 20:56, 6 September 2006 (CDT)

  • please remove the page W/Mo Vigorous Axe Defender, I erronously believed it to a new build, but a friend pointed out it is just a extreme variation of [Build:W/Mo Full Vigor Paladin].
) I'm not an admin but I could answer that question. Of course you can revert the page. People are rly not supposed to mess with your build's core elements like skills and attributes unless its a stub or it has something weird (like conjure phantasm in a e/w) (Not a fifty five 10:04, 8 September 2006 (CDT)). I'd inform him not to do it again, and tell him of how you put the modified build in variants.

Weird Thingy when banned[edit source]

Hi, while in the 3 day ban I could look at some discussion pages freely, and only half I would get "user blocked, code below" which would show what the page has. But even then only half the time would it give the correct code. Instead it'd give this 3 page long code full of gibberish. I'm not rly good with computer stuff like this but one of the code lines mentions javascript, does this have anything to do with it? If you're interested I saved one of the weird code messages. (Not a fifty five 10:00, 8 September 2006 (CDT))

Hi Not a fifty five, I would certainly be interested to see it. <LordBiro>/<Talk> 11:42, 8 September 2006 (CDT)
Aye, so would I. In case this is a security risk, please email it to me (us). —Tanaric 12:48, 8 September 2006 (CDT)
I think there's a chance it might. It looks like for some reason it showed what I was doing for the last few minutes instead of showing the talk page, but I dont know code. Anyways, lets kill two birds with one stone, I'll e-mail it to ya if you show me where the "e-mail a user" option is lol. I can't find it, and it was mentioned somewhere. (Not a fifty five 13:55, 8 September 2006 (CDT))

Special:Emailuser/TanaricSkuld 14:05, 8 September 2006 (CDT)

So here I am in the game, and all my windows/menus disappear. I see the view with my character (and the others), but I see no radar, no party menu, no skill bar. I see nothing in the instructions about this, and I am ... frustrated;P Any suggestions on how to get it back?

Uh, press ctrl+shift+H to toggle the UI on and off. But this isn't support for GuildWars, just the wiki. We're not connected to ArenaNet. --Fyren 18:33, 9 September 2006 (CDT)

True, and you are appreciated for both. Feel free to edit this out...

Merging edits?[edit source]

I made an account a few minutes ago and was wondering if my edits before account creation could be attibuted to the account. I'll understand if this is impossible. No big deal.

Thanks - Buzzer 01:56, 15 September 2006 (CDT)

Technically possible but not worth the effort. Feel free to place a note on the user page for the IP you edited from saying it was you, if you want. --Fyren 02:07, 15 September 2006 (CDT)
Aye, what Fyren said. The risk of database corruption isn't worth it. Glad to see you signed up for an account, though. :) —Tanaric 11:20, 15 September 2006 (CDT)

Vandalism to Builds page[edit source]

all content has been removed on Builds --Lemming64 20:02, 19 September 2006 (CDT)

I reverted it. Took the idiot 6 edits to clear it but it only took 1 to revert, hah. Chuiu Me Icon.png(T/C) 20:12, 19 September 2006 (CDT)

would like to add an icon for armor....[edit source]

I have the icon for the kurzick female monk armor (seems to be missing from that page) but have no idea HOW to get it to you other than the upload file.....which I did (think it wound up being called kurzickmonkfemaletat.... or something really close to that).....would like to help, just am not computer saavy enough to figure this one out (that and its like 4am I should be in bed, not typing out stuff on my computer...) let me know. or move the image to the correct spot....hope it helps......cosyfiep

I would reccomend reuploading it with the same name as the red link in the article. You could edit the link in the article instead, but the images have a naming scheme and it'd be best if it was consistent. --Fyren 06:22, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
ok, I have NO idea how to add to the page since there is NO red link.....the ONLY way I can upload an image is the 'upload file' way (bottom of the page on the left).....I can name it so that it is closer to the name of the armor, but no idea how to get them together----remember I mentioned by unsaavy-ness.........-----cosyfiep
Which armor page is it? Monk Kurzick Armor and Monk Ascended Kurzick Armor both have icons already. --Fyren 21:44, 20 September 2006 (CDT)
Hey Fyren, I replied on User_talk:Cosyfiep saying similar. Cosyfiep, I'm not sure if we have different definitions of "icon" than yourself. <LordBiro>/<Talk> 04:22, 21 September 2006 (CDT)

Bug for pets in Pongmei Valley[edit source]

~The ranger Yeti near the entrance to the Boreas Seabed usually spawn with their pets as normal, tameable animals. There is a bug where, if one of the normal animals spawn near the yeti, they will actually tame the normal animal, leaving their lvl 15 pet as a tameable animal. If you can get close enough without henchmen, it is possible to tame one of their pets, instantly getting either a lvl 15 dire tiger or an elder crane. Should I add this to the main page under "Animals"? Maybe something under a taming guide or something about the animals? just wondering where this should go, as i tend to hesitate before editing any main pages :D ~Avatarian 86

I would discuss it at Talk:Animal_companion. <LordBiro>/<Talk> 05:18, 23 September 2006 (CDT)
Or, you could just go steal one from Daeman and his cronies in Boreas Seabed. :) I'll see if it needs mentioning. --Karlos 05:22, 23 September 2006 (CDT)
Aight, i went and added it to Talk:Animal_companion. I didn't know you could steal one from the guy at boreas seabed, i'll have to check that one out. ~Avatarian 86

Untested Build Page Problem[edit source]

I'm not sure if this is a known problem, or browser specific, but while viewing untested builds, the link "next 200" does nothing. I've tried both Firefox, and safari and the same thing happens. Anyone Else?

It works fine for me. --Gem-icon-sm.png (talk) 01:40, 25 September 2006 (CDT)
It's a known bug. You have to log in. --Fyren 01:41, 25 September 2006 (CDT)
