this doesn't need to be a "policy". at least not in its current form. if you want a policy, it should talk about what bots are, who needs bot status, how it is awarded and removed. etc. —♥Jedi♥Rogue♥ 19:23, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Bot_policy would be a good starting point, although we obviously don't need everything there. My thought is that on this wiki, as it is much smaller than WP and we have much less need for bots than they do, only admins should be allowed to have bot accounts. If someone else comes up with an idea for a bot, that's great, but it should first be submitted for review to the admins to make sure it won't disrupt the wiki, then one of them can run it through their bot account. —Dr Ishmael 23:28, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Unneeded?[]
RT and I now have bot accounts, and I'm wondering... how many bots does this wiki really need? Too many cooks, and all that. Two is probably enough - it may take a little while to get through the initial batch of bot ideas, but I don't see a huge need for bots at all after that. Unless anyone seriously thinks we need a third active bot account, I think this page is pretty much unnecessary now. —Dr Ishmael
