Well, to actually answer the question, when you put text within the comment tags in an article, it doesn't get displayed in the article. However, when someone edits the article they will see the tags and text. Adding Images[]

The Image section of the help page is vacant. I need help on adding screenshots of the Assassin Exotic armor. Thanks.

I also would like help with adding images. I would like to work on the Canthan collectors, formating and adding maps, but when I go to General collectors (Southern Shiverpeaks) and open the edit screen for any of the sections that include a map to copy the formatting, there is no reference to any image file that I can find. Also, instructions on where to upload images to would be usefull :).

Font[]

Ugh! Don't use the tag! It's been deprecated for years! Instead, use something like this:

<span style="font: bold verdana;">Text here.</span>

You can include all sorts of stuff in that declaration, as this handy page shows. I request that you don't change the size of the font in your sig, though, as that'll just annoy me when I read talk pages. :) —Tanaric 14:42, 6 August 2006 (CDT)

I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to change the font face (or 'family') on this Wiki. If you take exactly what you said, or the stuff from that website, or from Wikipedia's own website, you get no results. Well, I had to look on my bookshelf for my XHTML book for dummies :P. I went old school and while Span tag is the best option, Tanaric got the syntax wrong. Here is what I just did with my signature: Gares and this is what it looks like: Gares

possible to define edit sections?[]

to explain it easily, have a look on my user page. there i have many boxes, and id like to have ONE edit button (top right, where else ;) ) in each box to edit THIS BOX. if i delete the NOEDITSECTION i have too many edit links to too small sections...

You change the smaller headings to large text instead. Try using the <big> tag and bolding with three hyphens '''. --

How to Redirect[]

May we add how to create redirects, like for plurals for items:

Putrid Cysts ----redir---> Putrid_Cyst

new content is GFDL[]

I copied over the editing guide from meta (with some minor changes). Their content is under the GFDL, so most of the content of this page is also (as opposed to the normal CC license). Our original page had a comment saying it was from hrwiki.org, which used to be a CC license (seems to have no license displayed now...), but it was likely copied from meta's page anyway. --Fyren 10:15, 30 September 2006 (CDT)

Linking with images[]

Is it possible to make a link with an image in wikicode? Example: I want to use the on my userpage and make it link to Warrior armor. I have tried to find in multiple help pages, but it's not listed anywhere. — Stylva 05:36, 22 October 2006 (CDT)

It's not possible. The best you can do is redirect the image page, but that doesn't help you. It's a long-standing issue in MW that people argue about on WP because such a feature means you can have an image but no easy/good way to get to that image's page for copyright information. --Fyren 05:41, 22 October 2006 (CDT)

Isn't it preferable for users who are using profession icons as sigs to reupload the file under a different name? Because then they can change the icon if they want (and on the other size if the profession icon is modified in size, it could be a problem) and set their own redirect. Personally, I think it's preferable to not use images in signatures. What links here for profession icons is going to be pretty useless because of the sheer number of pages without pages because of user signatures. Uploading multiple copies of images uses a relatively large amount of space to only achieve a redirect. If someone wants to edit the image they have to reupload anyway, so I'm not sure what your point with that is. --Fyren 07:44, 22 October 2006 (CDT)

There are multiple color sets supported by all major web browsers. A three digit hexidecimal code, as shown in that table, works - as will a six digit hexidecimal code. Uploading images[]

How to upload images in 4 easy steps:

Turn your head 2 degrees to the left
Locate the toolbox (it's right above the fansite emblem)
Click "Upload image"
Fill in the form

Is there a way to continue a numbered list onto the next column? Kinda like so:

No, that relies on custom code that was written for PvX that we don't have. We do have some similar templates, though: {{attributes}} and {{skill bar}} together will produce the same effect. Here is a random page that uses them like that. —Dr Ishmael
