Notes
- Magni's attack can deal damage in the 200 - 300 range. Be prepared for this.
- Keeping Magni Blind (by various methods) is an effective way to neutralize him. Keep in mind that hexes and conditions may need to be reapplied due to Purge Signet.
- A way to beat him as a Dervish is to use an Ebon Dust Aura build. Even a secondary Dervish can carry 12 Earth Prayers and use this strategy to keep Magni perpetually blind.
- A way to beat him as a Ranger is to use stances and a glass arrows build, and interrupt Irresistible Blow with Distracting Shot.
- A way to beat him as an Elementalist is to use water spells that slow him down like Freezing Gust and Ice Spikes, using the Mesmer skill Ignorance to stop him using Purge Signet, and a number or high damage spells such as Shatterstone, Vapor Blade, etc.
- A 55 Monk can defeat Magni.
- Offensive spirit spam with Painful Bond is an option for every caster.
- Conjunction of "You Move Like a Dwarf!", Necrosis and running away is enough to take Magni down, but it takes some time and requires +4 Energy Regeneration.
- You can also use "You Move Like a Dwarf!" and Necrosis along with various condition skills (burning arrow, apply poison, etc.) on a Ranger. Be sure to knock him down before taking any shots at him.
- A way to disable him for a mesmer secondary or primary would be a combo of Ignorance, Signet of midnight and Mantra of Inscriptions. Be sure to bring excellent energy management and good damage skills (signets would be a wise choice).
- Rangers can use Pin Down to make the fight more easy, but the condition must be reapplied after every Purge Signet. A good idea is to use "You Move Like a Dwarf!" after the signet until Pin Down is recharged, or Crippling Shot.
- Using Spiteful Spirit and Insidious Parasite in conjunction with any Weakness-causing skills (like Enfeeble) can damage Magni while keeping your health high. Good energy management is required to stay alive long enough to kill him though.
Trivia
- Magni is Old Norse for "strong".
- Magni's name is likely a reference to M. Bison, a boss character in the Street Fighter series of video games.
