In PvP, to Push is to use any method to force the enemy team to retreat, thus allowing you to move forward. It is most often used in GvG where positioning is more important than in other types of PvP.
Pushing can also be simply advancing on the enemy team rather than waiting for them to come to you. In this context, teams often push to deny their opponent time to use their Spirits and Traps.
