Talk:A Second Profession
Mandatory or not?[edit source]
From the article: "This is a non-mandatory quest guiding you [...] It is also impossible to enter the Ascalon Academy mission without doing this quest." The second part makes it look pretty mandatory, and Secondary profession claims it is. I did see some single-class people in postsearing (not recently tho), which would indicate it's not mandatory. If someone in the know could fix it before I get to testing, that would be nice. (Also, how is it for Canthans?) 184.108.40.206 23:25, 31 July 2006 (CDT)
- Its always been mandatory to my knowledge but they removed been able to take a group on to ascalon academy, I belive that every party member has to do it now. Im not sure if thats completely correct but im sure its something along them lines. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 220.127.116.11 (contribs) 00:44, September 22, 2007.
- The original question was asked some time back, I recently did a major clean up of this quest article and as a part of that, reworded that statement to "While not required to take a second profession, you will need to complete this before being able to enter the Ascalon Academy and leave Pre-Searing Ascalon.", which offers a clearer explanation. You are correct, passage into the academy has been slightly changed (as of the Sept 13th, 2007 game update), "to prevent players from being taken through the Searing involuntarily, players in Pre-Searing Ascalon must now talk to Sir Tydus individually", and so have added a note to The Path to Glory quest article. --Wolfie (talk|contribs) 21:18, 21 September 2007 (CDT)
