Can you cancel attack skills? Suggested improvement: more extensive discussion of the uses of this action. Rhia Aryx 07:09, 7 August 2007 (CDT)

You can. Shield Bash. Extensive enough? :) 03:17, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
You can for real though. Mid-attack skill, you double-click a different weapon in your inventory to equip it. That's a "hard cancel," and it stops any action. Felix Omni Signature.png 03:22, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Attack skills with ctivation timers can be cancelled by bashing Esc twice.
Also, not even a note on the BB sins? BB Sins use cancelling to weapon swap much faster. Click BB, mid-swing press esc once, swap to daggers. This allows a massacre attack chain to be completed without giving the target any chance to flee. --- Ohaider! -- (contribs) (talk) 14:55, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Ancient discussion, but the ability to cancel attack skills with activation timers has either been changed or never existed--just tested this myself using Mighty Throw and Power Shot by mashing escape and click-moving, but still finished both attacks. The "hard cancel" of directly swapping another weapon into your current slot is curious in that it's the only way to cancel the use of an attack, making it seem sort of broken/overlooked. I wonder if that particular game mechanic was intentional. 20:24, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
Attack skills behave a little bit differently from other skills. Once the weapon attack itself begins, Esc will not stop your weapon, and the skill activation does not begin until your weapon begins the next strike. I guess that's why it works this way.
