I heard you could get good stuff from these, but not as much as I expected, I killed 2 groups of 6 and got 2 gold armours, major soul reaping and supr swordsmanship ^^ — Skuld 18:47, 16 March 2006 (CST)

They've dropped Superior Vigor for me once and a couple of Superior monk runes. most of the time they drop average stuff, but enough to make the run equivalent to any 1 hour farming run. If you get a major Vigor, you have basically matched a UW run in terms of cash. --Karlos 19:14, 16 March 2006 (CST)
I documented around 130 Gypsie Ettin drops and I did not recieve a single gold Ettin's Pauldron, although I did get 2 gold Equippable items. Then I was farming Charcoal from Fire Imps and found a single Ettin. Killed him and suprise, a gold Pauldron that turned out to be a superior vigor.
If your wondering were my drop data is, I don't think posting data for 10 or so kills really shows a good drop rate, so I decided to wait till I documented 200 or more kills before I post. And I don't distinguish between gold, purple, blue, or white. I'm a little paranoid that ANet will nerf a drop rate should they see too many golds are dropping from a certain monster. :D --Gares Redstorm 21:24, 16 March 2006 (CST)

Somethings wrong with Omega Nightfire's data. 22 gold Equippable drops? You, sir, are a lucky man or use Hacks!! :D --Gares Redstorm 02:51, 24 March 2006 (CST)

I don't find that unreasonable. When I get weapon drops from them they are usually gold. Almost never max damage or anything like that, but usually gold. --Rainith 02:56, 24 March 2006 (CST)
I have drop rate data, which I will post when I get home, been too lazy to. Out of over 200, they only dropped 4 gold. This killing only 20 at a time and doing things to make sure if anti-farming code is real, to make sure its not on me. --Gares Redstorm 03:07, 24 March 2006 (CST)

Edit: If his numbers are correct, then his percentages are off. No way can 22 out of 240 = 0.08% and 8 out of 240 = 3.3% I think he might have his equippable weapon data backwards somehow. --Gares Redstorm 03:10, 24 March 2006 (CST)

So.... gettin paper&pencil, documenting my ettin-slaughery :-D Im headin for... some few hundred ettins for the gold eqip. drops... i had till now only a few, maybe 3 or 4, and even fewer purple HJT 10:08, 1 April 2006 (CST)

My perception is that the Ettins in North Kryta Province have a better drop rate for Gold Pauldrons than the ones in Nebo terrace. I am collecting hard data to determine if that is a correct.

I measured this:

Creature Gold Equippable Items Ettin Pauldron Ettin Hides Hardened Humps Keys Dyes Nothing Total
Gypsie Ettin 130(*) 0(**) 0 23 42 7(***) 31(****) 12 112 40 109 5 2 42 551
Percentages 23,59% 0% 0% 4,17% 7,62% 1,27% 5,62% 2,17% 20,32% 7,06% 19,25% 0.9% 0,36% 7,62% 100%

(*) It does 5676 gold.
(**) Ettins have no drop gold or purple Equippable Items. There is a boss Glutt Wallop who does. I guess, Ettins drop rate should have not included its drop rate. It has ~20% to appear. It has dropped 1-3 kind of items in same way.
(***)2 item are founded in Nebo Terrace, 5 in North Kryta. (Wilderness S, 2 Expertise, Marksmanship, Death M, 2 Sup Abs, Tactics)
(****)12 item are founded in Nebo Terrace, 19 in North Kryta. (9 Ranger, 7 Necro, 2 Monk, 4 Vigor, 2 Elementalist, 3 Mesmer, 3 Absorption, 1 Strength) A turn was started from Beetletun, run across everyones to east. After two Caromi Tengu has died, I have killed 6-8 ettins, 3 or 2 in northeast at the boss place, and in east 2-3 ettin before Caromi group does. Go North Kryta's northeast, and south, southeast kill 6-10, and east from there 2-6. At this point, I have killed some Bog Scale and Caromi Tengu, because I dont want to get anti-farming warning. I have only go back Beetletun, when my inventory went full. I did ~40 round trip like this, and I noticed that, the last Tengu has dropped ~60% a purple item. Crowley 13:07, 24 October 2006 (CDT)
