Someone just added that the Envoys were criminals in life and that being an Envoy is their punishment. What is this supported by? I've commented it out. 141.151.181.135 07:15, 29 May 2006 (CDT)

i added it, because it IS mentioned somewhere that they were forced to serve as shepherds due to their wickedness in life. That's why shiro becomes one, but it is actually told to us properly somewhere else. --User:Aptaleon Griefhaven

Despite the validity of the reference this does not make much sense. Giving criminals the opportunity to interact with "reality" without severe restrictions and limitations on their abilities is foolish. It seems very odd that a god would make this type of mistake. Admittedly, from other articles, it is fairly obvious that GW's gods are not particularly wise, capable or thorough. They keep making mistakes.Sabardeyn 14:47, 15 September 2007 (CDT)

Well maybe Grenth usually keeps watch on them however he went on vacation during the time of the whole Factions campaign and forgot get someone to watch the Envoys or was relying on the Envoys to watch each other. That would explain why Shiro only started doing anything two-thousand years after his death. --Curse You Curse You (talk|contribs) 21:12, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
It was only 200 years. Can't it just have been part of the curse of being an envoy, and that Shiro was able to overcome that part with the magic from Abbadon?--El Nazgir sigEl_Nazgir 09:24, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
