Talk:Gift of the Djinn
Explaining my edit: The previous entry said that "you still have to fight the djinn. Don't leave the area and expect a reward." The second part is correct, but the first part is wrong. You can't map away and get the reward, but if you flee to near the doorway and (more importantly) wait for the NPC to follow you, then the step completes and you can claim the quest reward as usual. I chose not to add this to the main page because I feel it's unnecessary, as the quest itself makes it clear, in my mind, but I wanted to explain why I deleted what I did. 18.104.22.168 03:19, 14 December 2006 (CST)
Bug fixed?[edit source]
I've done this quest twice during Wintersday and both times the Lords were there. Looks like this bug may have been fixed.--Dfscott 14:56, 10 January 2007 (CST)
Valuable Item[edit source]
Umm... so instead of risking it with the Djinn and possibly have something go horribly wrong (like it did), why not just take that gigantic pile of gold around the "island" thing that you get the Djinn spawns anyway? --Gimmethegepgun 14:18, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
After completing the quest throughly (I slaughtered every single djinn I found and went up to NPC at the entrance as instructed by quest info) and with the quest marked completed, I went to see him in that outpost to claim my reward. I didn't realize he was going to give me a trade contract and my inventory was full. What happened was that he congratulated me then suddenly he has the quest again and me with no rewards. I had to redo the quest and the second time I made sure my inventory space has room for his rewards! Barinthus 23:39, 8 September 2007 (CDT)
- Orly? That's strange. Usually, when you have a full inventory and a quest reward is an Item, the NPC says something like "You have no room in your inventory for: Kournan Coin." (T/C) 23:43, 8 September 2007 (CDT)
new bug...[edit source]
i got a new problem - the fire lord did not drop the essence that i needed to finish the quest.
- I've never seen them actually drop anything lately. But I noticed in your own screenshot that the Quest updated which meant all you needed to do after that was also kill the water lord and then "touch" both of the Altars. --ilr(01,Jan.'09)
Removed Note[edit source]
I removed a note about there only dropping one essence of each type when having this quest, as it to me at least was either incorrect or confusing. The Fire and Water Lords don't actually drop anything, just killing them is enough for the quest, and the regular Djinn drop their specific essences just fine. Mr J 14:59, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
