Huh. Salvaging a gold coin nets you an iron ingot. Reverse alchemy!

Place to farm these[]

I'd suggest bringing a solo build and go to the Crimson Skull village where Jatoro Musagi is being held.

HM?[]

In hard mode, the skull members are L15+. Does that mean everyone can drop a coin? Or only the handful that started out as L15? Tennessee Ernie Ford 15:50, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

I thought it obvious that those level numbers only refer to normal mode. The lowest level you see anywhere in hard mode is 20. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 16:44, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
Erm, the obvious part is obvious. Sometimes, HM monsters drop the same trophies as they would do in NM, despite their tougher stats. So, to repeat, does everyone in HM have the chance of dropping gold CSCs, or only the ones that were originally L15? Tennessee Ernie Ford 17:05, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure monsters always drop the same trophy regardless of nm/hm. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 17:08, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
I just VQ'd the area the week before Nick arrived; I have no memory of who dropped what. I merch'd the better part of a dozen GCCs, but that included a handful in storage.
I think you are probably correct that foes have the same trophy drops in HM b/c I think the AI is just upping the stats. The reason they drop more gold/rarer items is strictly level related. Otherwise, we'd see inscribable weapons drop in HM prophecies. (The worst part of WiK is that the drops are still Proph.) Tennessee Ernie Ford 17:20, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
