This article was created half a year after the event happened. Why is this? Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 06:14, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Same question can be directed at the Ascalon Royal Family Masquerade Ball article too, created several months after the event. These appear to be guild hosted events which Anet made an appearance at, guess making the event "semi-official" to some. But does GuildWiki get into keeping details of these guild/community-organised events "for posterity"? Perhaps, one way to answer that would be to ask, "What would happen if a guild/GW community group created an article to "promote" an up-and-coming event they were organising?". --Wolfie Wolfie sig.jpg (talk|contribs) 06:36, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Based on past precedent, we don't keep stuff from the past - "GuildWiki is to document the game as it is now, not as it was 6 months ago" as someone said once. I don't see any particular reason to keep it, but at the same time I don't have any problems that I'd delete it for...and this article should be linked to Maguuma Stade anyways. I read a think about this somewhere on GWiki but had no idea if it was a hoax or a joke, since it wasn't mentioned on that page. Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 06:42, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, sorta in the same boat, initial inclination was to slap a delete tag on it, but likewise couldn't actually site a reason for doing so, it crosses into a grey area (assuming this is not just a hoax, not bothered to check the external links given). On the one hand is a past event in the same way as a past Halloween, Wintersday etc event which we do keep, but on the other, was never a formal ArenaNet event (having a few Anet people turn up doesn't make it official, just shows they do spy on what us fans get up to sometimes). So the concern would be where to draw the line? Do we let these few slide, and only worry about it if a floodgate of similar articles start showing up, or take a stand now and classify this type of thing the same as posting a "Details about my guild" article in the main space? (Ok, will stop this novel now :) --Wolfie Wolfie sig.jpg (talk|contribs) 06:57, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
