Very Difficult But It Can Be Done[edit source]
This is among the most difficult quests in GW to do with just heroes. Here's the heroes I used to defeat it without consumables: Ritualist #1: OACjEOiMJPXzyJy1betrmOuLGA. Ritualist #2: OACiAyk8gN/mZuzW40694cmA. Necromancer: OAhiYwhMVzINN5MOxJOMV9cxAA. The heroes spent most of their time at 60% DP; as long as you keep your character alive enough times to avoid 60%, you'll be able to slowly wear the groups down. My character was a Dragon Slash Warrior with Brawling Headbutt, Save Yourselves, Pain Inverter, and Rebirth. If I had to do it again, I would probably take Asuran Scan instead of Brawling Headbutt. I used Pain Inverter to take down the Monks, Elementalists, and Mesmers.
To keep the villagers alive, you need to know how to lure; meaning, use a longbow to pull. You also need to approach the villagers from the correct directions, which are not shown on the map posted here. At the first villager, flag your team outside the menagerie, pull the animals that are near the villager out of the menagerie and kill them, and you'll get conversation. Now ignore the map posted here and take the southern entrance out of the menagerie. Go around to the east, then approach the second villager from the south, again luring enemies away. From the second villager, take the western exit and circle around to the north. Clear everything on the islands to the west of the final island without actually getting the final island on your radar. Then clear the beach on the way to the final island, and the area to the south of the ford to the final island. Now carefully lure the group on the final island; wait (sometimes for quite a while) until an enemy wanders south near the small rock to the right of the ford before pulling it with your bow. Kill that group on the beach and you're done. It didn't happen for me, but I've read that the third villager might follow an enemy group with a necromancer's minions in it; as long as you kill the enemy group on the beach instead of the island the villager will be safe. --Triplehammer 21:31, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
