Warning: Template include size is too large. Some templates will not be included.[edit source]

Got this warning while previewing the changes I made this morning - added in yesterdays and today's vanquish. Also, the last 2 entries are showing an invalid time error, which I'm guessing will go away once the template error get's resolved. Mauirixxx 20:16, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

It looks like the parser has a limit of 2 MB for when it's expanding templates on a page. (That is, it replaces all template calls with the actual template code (substituting the given parameter values).) The template used here, Template:Zaishen forecast/Vanquish/next, itself includes Template:Zaishen forecast/Vanquish/index and Template:Zaishen forecast/Vanquish. The big problem is that it has to include the /Vanquish template verbatim (i.e. treat it as plain text and not template code), and it has to include it twice. (The post-expand size of that on its own is 9,834 bytes right now.) So what you'll see is an exponential increase in the post-expand size of this page as new areas are added to the /Vanquish template, such that tomorrow instead of having 3 errors, we will probably have 4.
The limit is determined by $wgMaxArticleSize, which is 2 MB by default. I don't see why we can't increase that to something like 5 MB. I'll contact Bryan about making that change. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken.gif 20:36, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
In the changes this morning, they implemented my update to this config option. We now have $wgMaxArticleSize = 5120, which should be more than enough to finish this page. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken.gif 01:57, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
Yeah I noticed that there were no more errors today when I added in today's vanquish. Most excellent. Mauirixxx 02:33, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

Problem in the Date column[edit source]

Is this page deactivated ? Because all values in the Date column are mentionned as :

Error: invalid time

Please canyou fix it ? I use last version of Firefox, and have same problem with Microsoft IE. Thanks.

I'm not certain if the admins are aware of it. But this table has been broken since the transition to Curse. Same problem than before. SteveDP (talk) 21:10, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
I think this column will work itself out over time, if you look, the future dates have the errors, but the past dates automatically fill in. I'm hoping when all are filled in, then it will correctly predict the schedule when looking directly at that column - it puts the correct vanquish on the front page already, automatically. Aloha, Mauirixxx 00:55, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
There are no past dates in the table, only future ones. So I fear your reasoning might be flawed. :( SteveDP (talk) 20:00, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
I think the past ones were erased. ~ Aludeni (talk) 00:43, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
Whoever set up Template:Zaishen forecast/Vanquish/next, probably Ish, was definitely an evil genius. Normally, that template would normally have included most of Template:Zaishen forecast/Vanquish]] in reverse, which would have required updating two templates when the schedule was still being worked out. He figured out a way to avoid that, but the method was really inefficient, and something must have changed in the software during an update or the merge to cause it to throw up doing all that work 136 times. Since there's no longer any need to change things with these templates, I hardcoded the values into the template so the wiki doesn't have to do that convoluted lookup even once, and things are working now. If any of the others break, the same tedious fix will probably be necessary. oOeyes User-Nwash-Eyes.png 03:36, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
It seems to work now, good job! :) SteveDP (talk) 10:14, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
What do you mean, Aludeni? This is a forecast page and all old dates are automatically replaced by future dates. SteveDP (talk) 10:14, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
I was talking about those before this year. That didn't seem to show up. I'm glad Eyes fixed it all. :-) Gotta love these geniuses. ;-) ~ Aludeni (talk) 04:07, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
