Should this be used directly (so it appears normal if the article/image is recreated) or should it be subst'ed? Obviously subst'ed on the builds articles since they won't be recreated. —[[User:Dr_ishmael|Dr Ishmael]] [[Image:Diablo_the_chicken.gif]] 02:06, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Should this be used directly (so it appears normal if the article/image is recreated) or should it be subst'ed? Obviously subst'ed on the builds articles since they won't be recreated. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 02:06, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

I'd argue it should be used directly instead of substed. It makes the wiki-code more compact. -User:PanSola (talk to the Follower of Lyssa) 02:08, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Why this doesn't work[]

Subevaluations producing links add on the target page to the list of incoming links (What links here), based on the pagelinks table, even if there is no link on the resulting page. (source) This needs to be rewritten so the first expression in the #ifexist isn't a link, a way to do it is to put the angle brackets outside any #if. --◄mendel► 21:39, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

With the new parser, the expression in the branch that is not used does not get evaluated, so that'd work ok (source). However, #ifexists always produces a Whatlinkshere entry for the page you're checking (source). --◄mendel► 21:56, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

We can try dicking around with the PAGESIZE magic word we'll get with MW1.13. I hear on #wikia that the first wikis (YGO Wiki ??) already have it, and it seems to work ok. --◄mendel► 23:25, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
