Template talk:Fair-use image

From GuildWiki
Jump to: navigation, search

I disagree with much of the text changes - this version no longer acknowledges that the original was copyrighted and unlicensed. It also now states that the image is available under free use laws - unless every image using this tag is reviewed by a lawyer, the original wording it is believed that the use of this work ... qualifies as fair use is far more accurate. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 10:48, 3 May 2007 (CDT)

Please fix the text up, i just mushed it together, im still trying to create the base templates. If the current template does not fit your requirements, please reply or you may do it yourself. -- Xeon 10:58, 3 May 2007 (CDT)
I need to leave for work now. I listed above my two primary concerns with the current wording if you or anyone else has a chance sometime today to look at this more. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 11:03, 3 May 2007 (CDT)
This current version is way off the mark. The previous version's wording is deliberate because it is making a legal argument. This version says "hey, lets spam this image anywhere because it has been argued as fair use once already". 89.240.228.20 13:23, 3 May 2007 (CDT)
Hmm? if your referring to the missing notes section, its cause im editing the main template atm. -- Xeon 13:29, 3 May 2007 (CDT)

License "reason"[edit source]

What does it ask? Sounds to me like it asks for a reason to upload. That's where a lot of people are going wrong, and that's why I only upload GW screens and home made pictures >.< --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 17:11, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Fair use law requires a reason I think RandomTime 17:12, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
A reason for what? A reason to upload it? Sorry, if you didn't understand at first. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 17:15, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
