The Luxons and the Kurzicks are at war. If the alliance battle has reached the Ancestral Lands, then the Luxons have driven the Kurzicks back to their holdout position. For the Luxons to win here is indeed a struggle, as extra defenses and familiarity give the Kurzicks a definite strategic advantage here, no matter how the greater war is going. Luxons are compensated for their disadvantage with an Underdog Bonus equal to 200% of their score, providing them with a total of 3 Faction per point scored.

It is certainly a struggle for Luxons to win here, although not impossible. To win, Luxons must make sure that they capture and continue recapturing the Elite NPC's bases in the Kurzick base. Also they need to remember to continue capping the OUTSIDE bases as well. Only if they do these two things can they hope to win.
