I've been finding LOTS of places where Rood's corpse-exploitation runs into serious trouble. There's the Ooze Pit, for one; some of the northern areas with the shadows and spectrals; the burning forest area of Sacnoth Valley.. I'm sure I'll be running into more as time goes on.

There's also the golem dungeon but those go down so fast it hardly matters.

Really disappointed that faction is linked to characters, not account. Nightfall had Sunspear and Lightbringer, but nothing was really -attached- to those aside from a few skills (most of which were recently implemented) and a couple of other things. The Sunspear General requirement is supereasy to hit in normal play, also. Now we've got weapons and armors that require a decent number of points to be able to craft, for 4 factions. After I take Rood through it's probably going to be awhile before I feel like doing it again with anyone else.

The Charr, who love to burn things, who reduced Ascalon to ash and seem pretty happy to live there now, OF COURSE hail from a peaceful, verdant forest. Wait, what?

Jungles. Why did it have to be jungles? On the upside: DINOSAUR BATTLES.

Glasses + Dread Mask = awesome. Destroyer Gauntlets are badass but.. 250 cores? Not in this boy's lifetime. -.- Not unless I start e-buying gold. Not particularly impressed with any of the faction sets in general, although each of them have a gem or two.

Fave heroes are Pyre and Jora so far. If I had more of a general use for an interrupt-spammy mesmer I'd take Gwen, but I generally like that third slot to be damage.

Shards of Orr is COMPLETE BULLSHIT ARRHAGRAHGRAHGARGHAG. Fuck that place.

Polar Bears! Finally a bear without Brutal Mauling, and 'e's all icy. My kinda pet.

Revision as of 00:43, 3 September 2007

Some random thoughts so far:

Originally I'd thought of GW as rather similar to Yserbius/Twinion; it had that feel to me. Mostly small parties for much of the game, the shared city/outposts and then trekking about in the exploration/mission areas doing quests and advancing out, unlocking skills via quests, and so on.

Especially with Eye of the North it's feeling more like Baldur's Gate 2 and its expansion than anything else. Not a bad thing, just different.

This campaign beats Factions and Nightfall combined, hands down.
