Question: What is the highest damage a sin can do to a 60 Armor target with one attack skill?[ | ]

Blades of Steel is deffinately the highest damaging skill for assassins as it is the only +60 skill that activates twice, thus making it a 120 armor ignoring skill. At 16 dagger mastery and 20v50 inscription it would do 200 damage if both hits were criticals. If sundering mod is used and effects both attacks it does 50 damage instead of 40 so it will do 220 damage. Of Dagger Mastery will do nothing because it caps at 60. So the answer is 220 with Blades of Steel.

Normally however, this skill does about 80-90 damage per attack, so this skill does about 160-180 damage on average.

Question: What is the highest possible DPS for an assassin using skills?[ | ]

In a perfectly ideal situation where the sin always double strikes, always gets a critical hit, uses 20V50 daggers and sundering mod, and 16 dagger mastery, it would do 50 damage per strike, twice per second. So the answer is roughly 100.

Of course this is never going to happen. If you do run at 14 dagger mastery and 13 critical strikes, use 15^50 daggers and Zealous dagger mod(Which is the most common set up for assassins) you DPS will be about 23. If you did the above with the said attributes (14 and 13), you would have a maximum DPS of 72(At 14 dagger mastery your critical hits hit for 36. 36 x 2 is 72.

Overall, most assassin's auto attacks deal about 4200 damage every 3 minutes, making it 1400 DPM.

Question: What is the effect of Mirriored stance on two people if one uses Viper's Defense, Shadow of haste and Shadow Walk?[ | ]

If someone uses Shadow of haste, it works as normal, and you effectively can retreat back to the possition you are at right now if that wasn't the best move possible.

If someone uses shadow walk, the user shadow steps to the other person, and the other person stays where they are, as if the caster used it first. If the other person uses it, it is as if the caster again used it first so they shadow step to that persons LOCATION and after that happens, the other person goes back to their origonal location.

Question: What are all of the types of conditions assassins can apply using only assassin skills?[ | ]

Poison, Bleeding, Deep wound, Dazed, Blind and Crippled. There are no assasin skills that cause weakness, desease, cracked armor or burning.

Question: Dual attacks?[ | ]

Dual attacks cause you to attack twice instead of once with that skill. All dual attacks besides exausting assault have to be after an offhand attack. There are no skills that count as dual attacks, either it is one or it isn't. There are no golden, mantis, black Dual attacks. There is only one elite dual attack. If one of the two stikes misses, it still counts as an overall hit so skills that activate after dual attacks still take their effect.

Question: Why do all of the assassin skills seemingly have similar names like mantis or golden?[ | ]

They are ways to identify the function of a skill. Golden for instance means that you need an enchantment for one of the effects of it to activate. Mantis means the skill is involved with cripple in some way.

Question: What is the difference between assassin and Ninja? They look the same to me.[ | ]

A ninja is a Japanese Warrior designed to scout, kill and assassinate people. They are usually skilled in an art called ninjutsu (Nin-Jit-Sue). An Assassin is a murderer who kills by surprise attacks and is normally paid to do so. Ninjas aren't always stealthy and quiet, they are just steriotyped as that. Assassination is one of their roles. So in short, a Ninja is a type of Assassin, but an Assassin could be something like a sniper.

The stereotypical look for ninjas also comes from the stage hands in Kabuki theater who wore black "ninja-suits" to avoid being seen while moving things about in the background.

Critical Hits[ | ]

Critical Hits stack multiplicatively. What that means is each is you take the inverse of the chance each effect gives you and multiply it together and that is your chance to NOT get a critical hit. So let's take this slower:

WARNING! IF YOU HAVE NOT MADE IT TO 10th GRADE YET, YOU STAND ALMOST NO CHANCE OF GETTING THIS!

If you have Critical eye at 13 critical strikes and 15 dagger mastery, Critical eye will give you a +15% chance, Critical Strikes will give you a 13% chance, and dagger mastery will give you a 22.1% chance (For the table for percent chance of critical hits click here) So the inverse of each number is if you put it over 100 and instead put the %chance to not get a critical hit in. So Critical strikes would start as 13/100 and the inverse would be 87/100. Now take the % chance that you won't get a critical hit from that, which is 87%. That as a decimal is .87. Do that with all the numbers and that is .87 x .85 x .779 = .59 (Rounded). So with that you have a 59% chance to not get a critical hit. This means that you have a 41% chance to get a critical hit.

Question: Does the Of Dagger mastery inscription raise your base damage as well or just the numbers on the attack?[ | ]

It raises only the numbers on the attacks. To test this I took Jagged Strike and used 15^50 and Of Dagger mastery inscription. After 100 tries, it never once hit more than 40, making it obvious that it would never raise my base dagger damage, only the bleeding would last longer.

Question: What does DPS and DPM mean?[ | ]

Damage per second and Damage per minute. Spike builds have the highest DPS. Pressure builds have the highest DPM. Assassin's DPS can be huge while there DPM is extremely low.

Question: What makes assassin's spikes so strong?[ | ]

Bonus Damage and deep wounds. Bonus damage ingores the enemies armor, so you are guanteed to deal at least that said amount. This tacks on with your normal damage so in the end you deal +35 (Bonus Damage) and 24 (Base damage) = 59 damage. Now if that happens in a dual attack, you just did 59 twice, or 118 damage.

Deep wound rips off 100 health off your target and makes healing not work as well, make the spike more able to get through.

Above those to, as said before, Dual attacks are the biggest things. Some of the best Assassin builds use 2-3 dual attacks because they are so powerful. Their effects activate twice, so things like shattering assault removes TWO enchantments.

Question: How does the game choose how much damage I will do?[ | ]

It's random. It has a range of damage it can choose from, discluding your critical hits. So if the range is 12-18, it takes one of those numbers randomly and uses it for your damage.

Dash[ | ]

There are a few things people don't know about this skill. For one, it is the fastest skill in the game. Most know that already. What people don't know is that it also allows you to run over traps, activate them, but not be effected by them.

Jagged Strike[ | ]

Lots of people think this is a good skill to use. They're wrong. Let's compare this to the other options avialable as short recharging lead attacks.

We have:

  • Unsuspecting Strike
  • Golden Fox Strike
  • Black Mantis Strike

Look at Jagged Strike. At 14 dagger mastery the bleeding lasts 19 seconds so thats 6 damage per second for 19 seconds. 6 x 19 = 114 damage. At 14 dagger mastery, a critical hit is 36 damage with a 15^50 mod on. So all togther you do 36 damage maximum right away and 114 damage over the course of 19 seconds.

Now, unsuspecting strike at let's say 13 critical strikes (Which would be common). It does +29 armor ignoring damage right away and a bonus of 67 more armor ignoring damage. So at 14 dagger mastery that is +36 damage on top of all that so this attack can easily deal 29+67+36= 136 damage in one hit, in 1.33 seconds. Without the bonus damage this skill can still hit up to 65 damage. So right away, this skill has outdone jagged strikes damage, in one hit. Two hits if they are under 90% health.

Now, Golden Fox Strike at 14 dagger mastery. It will do +29 armor ignoring damage right away. So if this is spread out over 19 seconds it will hit every 5.33 seconds, about 3 times. So thats (29x3)+(36+3)=195 damage. WAY above jagged strikes damage. It also goes one step further to be unblockable.

Now Black mantis Strike. This is exactly like Golden Fox strike, but it has one more thing over Jagged strike. It can snare the enemy with a really easy condition to meet. So this does more DPS and it snares.

Ok now out of the ideal situations. Conditions will be removed. Extremely easily. You might say that with jagged strike you can just reapply it but what removed it? Dismiss condition or restore condition did. That means they got healed for about 70 health over your 36. Reapplying it makes your target very easy to spot, since their health bar turns pink. Bleeding does ignore armor, but so what? So does bonus damage and it happens right away. If you want to hurt someone you want it now, not over the course of 19 seconds. Trying to spread this to every member on their team is not only unrealistic and inneffective, it is also inferrior to a ranger with apply poison spreading poison to everyone in a fraction of the time.
