Tried and true method is to add a HTML comment to your post so that you can thumb your nose at people who replied because they should have noticed it in the wikitext. --◄mendel► 16:50, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Naz 'just' typo'ed <sarcasm>; they don't actually do anything, so code/nowiki isn't required. --Vipermagi 15:22, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

meh, back when I was using safari it would parce the tags and lock up trying to find the javascript + css that define what they do, so it's always safer to add that 13characters than break a browser (note that that was not the now-current version of safari, I was 12, I now use ff, and the issue has likely been resolved). — Scythe 15:53, 5 Dec 2010 (UTC)

In HTML, that might happen, but MediaWiki sanitizes tags it doesn't recognize, so the <sarcams> actually comes out as <sarcams> . Of course doing it like that explicitly means I can show actual tags in the wikitext without using <nowiki>. --◄mendel► 02:20, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

I humbly suggest that we all add <whateverthehellwewant></whateverthehellwewant> tags to our posts for the express purpose of crashing Safari. Serves them right for being smug and stuff.

Ishy is an evil genius, as we speak he is performing a bot run to apply the CSS property "idiot" to the common.css, thus hiding it from RC. He is then going to implement it to every userpage via shell access butrun. Prepare to be owned.
