Awesome[edit source]

This is great!  —Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 06:16, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. If you have any suggestions just tell me and I'll see what I can do. --Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 22:18, June 24, 2010 (UTC)
Did I mention how awesome this is? (Oh, yeah, guess I did. Still: bears repeating)  —Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:02, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
I concur. I keep planning to post here, but I keep forgetting. I've been using this page for about a year, and basically, this page is always open in a tab, and it's always my first bookmark. This has been invaluable to me, and I'm incredibly grateful that you made it. Also, grats on your weekend prediction being right! Ailina 13:40, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks guys, your comments really brightened my day. =) I didn't think anyone had even noticed that I got my first weekend prediction right. --Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 20:37, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

Updates[edit source]

You probably noticed that (a) eotn weekend was a goofed announcement (schedule is fine; ANet pasted the wrong text) and (b) as far as I can tell, only the ZMish cycle was altered (the bounty and combat cycles appear to remain as they were).  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:02, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Is it sad that I got their weekend event right and they didn't? I actually hadn't noticed they changed it, so thanks for the heads up. I just added the Zaishen Vanquish to it and I'll add the Vanguard quests later. I removed the note about everything being messed up because it all seems to be normal now, we'll just have to see where Pogahn Passage fits into the cycle. I also added a letter to each of the Zaishen Quest icons to help identify them since there are so many daily things now. --Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 01:35, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
The letter looks awesome! And yeah, chaos reigns at GWW because they haven't quite figured out how to handle things...and their code made some awkward assumptions. On the whole, I would rather have ANet mess up the announcement and not invalidate our predictions; it's so much more tedious to have to visit GToB (and now EB!) to determine what's available.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:56, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks TEF. =) I just added the Vanguard quests and an icon for them, along with a key, since things can get even more confusing now that we're tracking 7 daily things. The key can be viewed by clicking the text above the top right of the calendar. On a minor note, I removed the note about the weekend event predictor still being developed because its looking pretty solid now and I wanted to avoid clutter. I hope you (and everyone else who uses it) like the changes. --Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 03:12, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
It's awesome, Kirbman. One of the most useful tools, to which I point many ppls. Looks good, too.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 06:49, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
I added some possible additions that are commented out in the code right now. If you want to check them out, just hit edit, uncomment them, and let me know what you think and what suggestions you have.
  • Idea: Weekly predictions above each week.
  • Problem: It becomes too cluttered
  • Idea: To make it less cluttered, hide the latter two weeks by default, with a button to show them.
  • Problem: The columns don't align between each half because (as far as I know) the hidden part has to be it's own table.
  • Alternate Idea: Add a key at the top with checkboxes to show/hide each type of information (ex. all checked by default, unchecking "Wanted by the Shining Blade" would instantly hide the bottom piece of information in each day's box.
  • Problem: I don't think this is possible on a wiki.

Front Page action[edit source]

  • Idea: Since your predictions seem spot on - include them in the front page of the wiki
    • Problem: what problems? :P Ok if Anet messes with the schedule, we could just edit the (potential) template accordingly

I know how to leech on to others work, but not create original code of my own. But, I'm thinking, if we template the descriptions (1 template for all descriptions, or 1 template per description?) then couldn't we just include them like how the Z(BMVC) action is done, with the option to manually enter the special events (Wintersday, Canthan New Year, etc etc). If you can figure out the best way to do that, I'd more more then happy to add in the event descriptions or anything else to help. I may not have the coding skills, but I got the "want" to help and the time to help :) Aloha, Mauirixxx 19:53, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Sorry I didn't spot this until now, I've been forgetting to check my watchlist regularly. Anyway, I could put the weekend predictions on the main page; I'm actually the one who wrote those Zaishen quest templates so it wouldn't be a problem. The problem now is the naming of the weekend events. Most of them don't have official names, and the descriptions in the login page announcement headers are typically long and often inaccurate or nondescript. If we can standardize it so that they're all concise and accurate then I'll add it to the mainpage editcopy. --Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 02:00, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
I think I found a solution: I gave the template the ability to display three different ways. I'll keep the current format here and see what I can do about getting it on the main page. I already got it on the main page of the official wiki just now. --Kirbman sig.png Kirbman 04:42, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
