Glimmer and Orison look pretty different imo, there's pictures of mountains but they're pretty different. Especcially as Heal Area and Heal Other and not in meant to look alike when that is baltently obvious since they're the same but the circle in Heal Area has a bigger area. Fairness

I really don't think you are being fair to the artists. The page starts out rather accusingly, just be glad theres different skill icons per skill, not just a common icon for each type of heal like many MMOs out there. Besides many are a huge stretch...

5 a bald paragon, thats the only similarity

10 there 2 circles, the pattern and background are no where alike.

12 how many different ways can you draw a person running?

14 all hands holding blades, rather different looking blades

19 blades and background are not even close

22 ones a woman, the others a man with different armor

24 the third one, there swords and not even in the same positions

27 paragons are god like, why is it bad to portray them in such a figure?

30 backbreaker is a girl in gladiator armor, clumsiness isn't close

31 the hammers don't look alike

33 just because it has lines reaching to the bottom?

38 see #14

41 all have different backgrounds with different blades

43 hands not even close

53 signets patterns are alike in RL

54 because they have glowing eyes? ones a animal

60 arms are at different angle and hair differs

66 draw a fireball different looking then that

72 hammers no where close to looking like each other

73 angordons a lot more detailed and awaken the blood came out before it.

I'm not going to flame you about this, in fact, on some of them, you make good points. However, I'm afraid you're looking at the details too much, especially in the sense that we weren't really paying much attention to what kind of weapon/armor is in the icon, but rather the way they are positioned. I will critique each of comments individually:

• 5-The only thing that appears different from each other is that one seems to be zoomed in more than the other. They are holding the spear in the exact same way, and it's the same guy.
• 10-Agree with you on that one.
• 12-Half-way agree with you there, should be moved to "Meant to look alike" category.
• 14-Blood Ritual should be out, but the other two's icons are blades being held the exact same way, in the same relative area of the icon, although it may be a slight stretch.
• 19-Again, too much detail. The fact is, is that they are both holding a blade in the same exact matter, and pointing in the same direction.
• 22-Regardless of gender or armor, they are both positioned very similarly to each other.
• 24-Agree with you that Flurry needs to be taken out.
• 27-In the first two images, the paragon is in the exact same area of the icon and has the exact same posture as each other, only what's below them is different. However, the third one should be taken out.
• 30-Too much attention to detail. They're both falling forward, and both at the same angle too.
• 31-Should be taken out, because the hammers aren't really in the same position as each other.
• 33-Agree with you on this one.
• 38-It's a bit of a stretch, and I can see where you're coming from, but both are holding them in the same manner.
• 41-All three are coming from top-right and going to bottem left, although I'm not sure about this one.
• 43-How many other icons have claws looking like this and are positioned the same?
• 53-Meant to look alike, IMO.
• 54-Yeah, pretty much because both have glowing eyes, and the way the glow flows out and up.
• 60-They're both doing relatively the same thing, and look quite similar actually.
• 66-Meant to look alike. But flare doesn't really look as much like the others.
• 72-They're both sticking straight up from the bottom of the screen, and they are at the same angle, and about the same size, too.
• 73-I would guess because of the way the eyes glow, and the fact that his skin is green. Not too sure about this one.

Okay, finally done! (Nobody better EC me on this, or I'll kill you!) And I highly doubt that this was in any way supposed to be insulting to A-net artists, in fact, they're some of the best. Sometimes it's just fun to look back and see how surprisingly similar some of their skills are. Going to voice my opinion now. If I don't list a number its because I agree with what's been said above or I have no sensible refute.

• 5- I fail to even see the spear in NT.
• 10- I do see four semicircles at the same places on the circles, just more expanded on Mend. But if this one is removed I won't complain.
• 12- BR is held at the same angle, just flipped to the other direction.
• 24- Flurry is multiple swords coming in at and angle, just like Barrage and Volley are except with arrows. And if anything should be done to this one its move Barrage/Volley to meant to look alike (without Flurry, leave barrage/volley in both), they're the same skill, Barrage is just an upgraded version.
• 27- Look at the guy in GftE! and FA. FA is the same guy just zoomed in farther with his right side cut off.
• 33- No, its because of the face on the icon with the lines coming in/going out of the mouth.
• 38- Same angle again.
• 41- Its the angle.
• 66- Err... look at Fireball, it looks nothing like those.
• 73- Its irrelevent which came first. Angorodon's is a more detailed face twisted to an angle.

The reason I say it starts out accusingly is because of this line "It seems to me that Anet artists are hitting a block." That seems like the writer is actually annoyed that some look alike, to me at least.

33 the faces are nowhere alike and the lines even go otu in different angles

73 the way the page starts makes it seem like author(s) are accusing anet of copying, Awaken came out long before the more detailed one so I think theres no way the skills should be similar. Other then that they are ugly faces. --Alari 19:45, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

In 33, it doesn't matter that the faces are nothing alike, it's still a face that's sucking in... something... that is shown by the white lines.
