Purpose[edit source]

My user pages are basically for my own assistance in trying to keep my players organized. I can look up where each is, what they have, and what they need. Other users such as guild members can use these pages to see if I have a character which can be of assistance to them.

I am working now at helping to maintain the wiki. Currently this means trying to restructure and cleanup the unique item pages. Please anyone let me know here if something isn't being done right by myself or if you have suggestions as to how I go about reorganizing. --RabiesTurtle 00:51, 19 December 2006 (CST)

Template substitution[edit source]

Remember to use {{subst:rate-a-build}} to copy the template text onto the page, and not just link to it ;) — Skuld 17:22, 27 December 2006 (CST)

Thanks, I was wondering about that. When I looked at the edit on it it still had the template, but if I looked at the edit of just the section, it shows correctly so I figured it did that until someone added a vote. Still new to wiki but trying to help as I can. --RabiesTurtle 20:12, 27 December 2006 (CST)

Current discussion on Rate-a-build[edit source]

Template_talk:Rate-a-build#Rate-a-build - looks like even the template will soon be changing to be more specific and show that testing is not required. You might wanna take a look for more info if u want. Hope this helps some --Midnight08 Assassin 13:33, 10 January 2007 (CST)

Don't worry, I get the principle behind all of this. All of the things are you pointing to are discussions themselves, so what I am simply saying is that until it actually becomes policy by changing the template wording itself, is that people should go by the current directions. Users shouldn't have to look up the discussions on templates to get the upcoming policy, it should be as simple as following the directions on the page you are posting to. I guess I am alone on this and it isn't upsetting me or anything. I don't mind a calm debate though :) Just take my stance as my opinion on the matter. --RabiesTurtle 14:28, 10 January 2007 (CST)

Update[edit source]

Hi there! I reverted your alphabetizing of the skill lists in the update. Not because I disagree with it (I actually agree that it helps), but because the community made a concious decision some time ago to post the update information as presented by ArenaNet (or as close as possible within the wiki). There have been times in the past where we even ekpt typos.

I have no problem with this being brought up again in the updates talk page - feel free to question it. If the community agrees, then we can change that practice.

Note: If I'm mistaken, and the community already agreed to allow cleanup and I missed it (hey, it can happen), please let me know and accept my appologies. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 21:39, 1 February 2007 (CST)

No worries. I asked about it on the talk page but didn't get a quick response so I did a quick alphabetize using MS Word. I will go along with whatever the community wants to go with. Personally, I think the updates should be how ANet does them, BUT in the case of a skill list with tons of skills, reordering them couldn't possibly hurt anything and only benefit users trying to what changed with their find their favorite skills. I will bring it up again. --RabiesTurtle 21:43, 1 February 2007 (CST)
I fully agree - I just hadn't tried taking on that particular battle again yet. Like I said, feel free to bring it up again! --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 21:51, 1 February 2007 (CST)
I was in the process of starting just that very discussion ;) Not sure if it is in the right place though. Sometimes I don't know exactly where to find where you guys discuss some of these policies until I post/edit something incorrectly. --RabiesTurtle 21:54, 1 February 2007 (CST)
Hmmm, well I started the topic but no responses. Oh well. --RabiesTurtle 14:17, 2 February 2007 (CST)

Trading Items[edit source]

Mentioning a site in the manner you did is just fine. I see no reason to have that italic note at the bottom. just make sure you got the url right. Foo 19:28, 4 April 2007 (CDT)

User namespace[edit source]

I've located several articles written and maintained by you that should belong to the user namespace if I'm not mistaken ([1]). You might want to move them. -- 62.46.87.115 15:58, 8 April 2007 (CDT) (Manny)

Crap, you are right... I missed the User: in front of dang all of them. Appreciate the notice. — RabiesTurtle (contribs) 16:04, 8 April 2007 (CDT)

Moved[edit source]

Moved a template you created in the main namespace that only you're using to User:RabiesTurtle/Skill single and changed your links. --Fyren 12:59, 26 June 2007 (CDT)

I had hoped some others might have used it or improved it, but oh well. Thanks for fixing the links :) — RabiesTurtle (contribs) 15:36, 26 June 2007 (CDT)
