The Rockmolder[edit source]

The fact that The Rockmolder was changed in a patch and was such a prominent item used on so many builds and in so many locations before it was changed makes its history notable. I do not see how it hurts an article to keep significant details on certain changes that dramatically affected the game. This was one of the first major incidents that resulted in items being changed in a patch after a long time and is therefore extremely significant. GuildWiki policy does talk about current game state, not previous state, but that is mainly used for skills and quests, not many items have been retroactively changed and I'm sure that policy was made without regard to item changes. Builds have been archived because they have dropped out of favor due to patches, so why can't the history of items be recorded? Other items have been notably documented on how they changed and The Rockmolder should be too. Stexe 08:37, 16 March 2007 (CDT)

A custodial matter[edit source]

Hello. Earlier I had uploaded Image:Freezie3rd0.jpg (which had been improperly linked into the article from imageshack by another user) for use in Freezie Crown but somebody simultaneously uploaded a more intuitively named and simply better image for the article and so I just wanted to give you to heads up if you wanted to just delete it just to keep things clean. Thanks. Seva 04:22, 1 January 2007 (CST)

Done. Thanks for the heads up. --Rainith 04:23, 1 January 2007 (CST)
Thanks a lot. In a slightly related matter, small vanity dispute in Freezie Crown involving that link to imageshack. Seva 04:30, 1 January 2007 (CST)
I noticed. If it gets bad the article can be locked, but for now I deleted the FreezieCrown.jpg version and kept the Freezie Crown.jpg version. We'll see if that helps. --Rainith 04:32, 1 January 2007 (CST)

That'll teach you to to walk off. :P --Rainith 22:22, 5 January 2007 (CST)

why did that get reverted?[edit source]

my friend was helping me get the contents on my page up, it was all in good purposes ;) what did he do to get banned too?--Kyro27 22:25, 5 January 2007 (CST)

Feel free to revert it back then. When someone who has been blocked changes another user's page it will generally get reverted.
here is what SIinky did to get banned for one day, one more incident and he'll be banned a lot longer, possibly along with his ISP's IP range if that is what it takes. --Rainith 22:28, 5 January 2007 (CST)
Go for the IPs. See User:SIinky vs the newly created User:Sock puppet. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 22:33, 5 January 2007 (CST)
Nevermind - I see you got that one already. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 22:34, 5 January 2007 (CST)
No problem, I'm not sure how to find a user's IP though, I was just going to go for NetRange: 198.53.0.0 - 198.53.255.255 if it came down to that. --Rainith 22:36, 5 January 2007 (CST)
Only server admins have access to a user's IP address. — Gares 22:38, 5 January 2007 (CST)
Kinda what I thought. But since SIinky posted as an anon, he showed his IP which is traceable, and mass blockable if it comes to it (following the rules for range blocks, of course). --Rainith 22:40, 5 January 2007 (CST)
Awfully nice of him, wasn't it?

Proof that henchmen are better than PUGs[edit source]

I like the lich one, but you cheated on shiro! You can't hide those heros... Anyways, you should get an abaddon hench shot. Though I haven't tried it with hench-only, abaddon is a pushover anyways. --8765 21:35, 7 January 2007 (CST)

Heh, I guess I need to change the heading title. When I originally made it and posted the lich pic. there were no heroes, only henchmen. As for Abaddon, I still haven't worked my way through Nightfall (scandalous, I know), so I haven't even tried to hero/hench him yet. --Rainith 21:39, 7 January 2007 (CST)
Proof that heroes & henchmen... You little cheater you! :) Have fun whooping abaddon. --8765 21:53, 7 January 2007 (CST)
Hello Rainith. Congrats on being the first person I see that was able to hench Hell's Precipice & Imperial Sanctum. I was able to hench Hell's Precipice with 7 henchmen as a monk, and 3 heroes+4 henchmen vs Abaddon as a dervish. Havent tried vs Shiro yet, since I always stay with the same group from Raisu Palace. Gabe 09:51, 31 January 2007 (CST)
I henched Raisu and Shiro with a war, was a bit of a pain in raisu because my monks refused to heal togo for some reason. Abaddon is really easy to hench if you run back to the bridge a little before the monoliths resawn. --User-Saranis Green Dot.jpg 11:54, 22 February 2007 (CST)
To be honest I kinda got tired of progressing NF's storyline and still have the last two missions left (Lich + Shiro and Abaddon), which I haven't even tried yet. I will eventually go back and do them, I probably should before something gets nerfed and I have to actually do them with people. ;) --Rainith 11:58, 22 February 2007 (CST)

Double XP for Elite Skill Captures weekend ;) — Gares 22:14, 9 January 2007 (CST)

Heh, yeah, I'm just kinda annoyed that I went thru and got a bunch of Mes and Ele Factions ones in the last week. But I'll definitely be doing some capping this weekend. :) --Rainith 22:17, 9 January 2007 (CST)

Sockpuppetry[edit source]

Not sure if we deal with Sockpuppetry, but I'm wondering if you can check if there was any vote tampering in [Build_talk:D/any_The_Blessed_Dervish]. Basically the case is, the guy writes a build, it's voted unfavored, and suddenly, another user (also with a "red link") comes in a puts a Favored vote. If there isn't any policy on dealing with Sockpuppetry, sorry I bothered you. =) — Rapta Rapta Icon1.gif (talk|contribs) 22:21, 12 January 2007 (CST)

There is no real policy against it, but I'm somewhat confused, as if Deathangel is claiming to be the creator of the build, why should his vote count? --Rainith 22:25, 12 January 2007 (CST)
It shouldn't, but he didn't claim to be the author. It's just that I believe he's a sockpuppet controlled by the Author of the build, who is using it to vote favored on that build. — Rapta Rapta Icon1.gif (talk|contribs) 23:06, 12 January 2007 (CST)
"Hello people, this is from the person who create this build...Deathangel 22:14, 12 January 2007 (CST)" Seems to me that is what he is saying. --Rainith 23:08, 12 January 2007 (CST)
Oh. Didn't even see that. My bad. =P — Rapta Rapta Icon1.gif (talk|contribs) 23:11, 12 January 2007 (CST)
No worries. :) --Rainith 23:18, 12 January 2007 (CST)

Congratulations on 100%! I'm at 90.something. Not looking forward to the rest. :P - BeXoR Bexor.png 05:21, 21 January 2007 (CST)

Thanks. :) I started out at 95%+ when Factions came out, and have slowly been eating up the last of it since then. Just this last week I decided it was time to complete it and really worked towards it. Use the GWG thread(s) about it and the maps in them to help you get that last little bit. It really helps to know where you need to go. --Rainith 05:24, 21 January 2007 (CST)

Hi[edit source]

Hi you messaged me about making templates for my characters, im not sure i fully undsrstand how to make one still tho. thanks

icons[edit source]

Hey rainith, where can i get all the little icons things?

i know how to make all the profession icons but not sure how to make the skill icon things example: recharge, energy, adren.. so on.. could you show me how to make those icons, message me thanks --Chrisworld 22:47, 21 January 2007 (CST)

I'm not sure what you mean by make the icons. If you want to add them to your page, you can just use the standard code for adding images [[image:imagename.jpg]]. You may want to take a look at the Editing guide for more info. --Rainith 22:53, 21 January 2007 (CST)

O_o? While I appreciate the box, it is hardly true. :) And I'm not quite sure what it is referring to, I've probably forgotten it ;) --Rainith 15:28, 26 January 2007 (CST)
My joke would have made more sense last night, but I was bored at work today and near asleep last night when that vandal resurfaced. I was referring to remembering SIinky's IP address. That was almost 20 days ago after looking through my Block Logs. :P — Gares 16:42, 26 January 2007 (CST)
Look up: #why did that get reverted? :P But yes that makes more sense now. --Rainith 16:52, 26 January 2007 (CST)

Hey[edit source]

Reminder: After breaking out of the prison I call work, the email has been sent. — Gares 09:12, 3 February 2007 (CST)

Hey, This is Thom. I know you're an admin over at the 'official' wiki, and just wanted to request my IP be unblocked. I understand why it got blocked completely and realized almost immediately I had commited a really offensive joke that got out of line really quickly. However, I feel that if people like trevor can get the people at #gwp to contribute to the wiki in a positive manner it could really get off the ground as far as pvp content is concerned. If you feel you don't want to unblock me I understand, but thought I'd ask in hopes that you give second chances. This is my ip: 12.217.34.43, and the block ID is #2.--Thom Bangalter 23:29, 7 February 2007 (CST)

Fair enough, I'll unblock it there. --Rainith 23:40, 7 February 2007 (CST)
Thanks, things got out of hand fast when everyone decided to have some edit wars about JR while he was in channel :S --Thom Bangalter 02:57, 8 February 2007 (CST)

Sent email[edit source]

See above :p — Gares 14:43, 8 February 2007 (CST)

A new one, or did you not get either of the responses I sent to you? --Rainith 14:44, 8 February 2007 (CST)
I sent you one about 20 minutes ago — Gares 14:46, 8 February 2007 (CST)
Yeah, I should have checked before I asked you. :P Sent you a response, I'll try to get in touch w/you when I'm home. --Rainith 15:27, 8 February 2007 (CST)

Sweet Tooth[edit source]

So you gonna make a box for it? Gandorf 23:49, 14 February 2007 (CST)

Ha! I was just talking to Gares on IM and mentioned that I would make a box this weekend for it. :) If you can wait until Monday that is. --Rainith 23:52, 14 February 2007 (CST)
Cool, of course I can wait. Gandorf 23:57, 14 February 2007 (CST)
Good, I just can't believe you spent 2 mil to get it already. O_o --Rainith 23:59, 14 February 2007 (CST)
Yeah, I know. But im not big on weapons and stuff so I never really spend any money. Might as well get at least 1 maxed title on my account. :D Gandorf 00:08, 15 February 2007 (CST)
Well, just so I could use the box after I make it, I went and ate a Red Bean Cake, so I have 2/1000 on my title track now. ;) --Rainith 00:20, 15 February 2007 (CST)

Reversal of contribution[edit source]

Hi Rainith. I was just wondering why you reverted my change back to wrong as it was before (Miresh: Anger of the Stone Face). I did not get it. An explanation would be useful for not contributing with things any longer you do not wish to read in here. I neither want to provoke you nor waste my time.... Thanks. --tapps75 09:28, 15 March 2007 (CDT)

On Miresh's page, the only location listed for him is in Zehlon Reach, it does not list him as being found in Cliffs of Dohjok, that is what I checked before I reverted your edit. That was why I originally reverted your edit. Looking at the quest itself it says that he is found in Cliffs, so it looks like the NPC page may be out of date, either that or the quest page is wrong. As I'm at work at the moment, I can't check to see which one it is. --Rainith 13:15, 15 March 2007 (CDT)
Ok. I think I can put the record straight: Miresh is indeed found at the Cliffs but only during Stone-Faced Orders(see point 2: Meet Miresh on the Cliffs of Dohjok.) If you accept the quest reward there he becomes quest giver for Anger of the Stone Face. I think it is obvious to accept the anger-quest at that point so that´s why I put it there. I do not know where you can find Miresh offering the anger-quest if you do not accept it at the Cliffs. (But I cannot figure out any logical reason to refuse the quest on the Cliffs.....) --tapps75 14:20, 15 March 2007 (CDT)
Ok, I was just going off the info that I got when I checked the Miresh article. That should be updated to place him in Cliffs also. Does Miresh stay in Zehlon Reach after you complete both quests, or does he return to Cliffs of Dohjok afterwards? --Rainith 15:22, 15 March 2007 (CDT)
After completion of the Stoned-Face-quests, afaik, he does not appear any longer in the game. You definitely cannot find him neither on the Cliffs nor in Zehlon Reach or at the Astralarium. --tapps75 17:03, 15 March 2007 (CDT)

User:Jagre[edit source]

Howdy. Just wanted to point out this user's actions on [Build:N/W Jaguar Sword, melee-mancer anti]. He has violated GW:1RV just so that he can defend his build on the main page rather than the talk page. (Whatever the underlying petty issue is, it's the GW:1RV violation that brought me here). Thanks. Jinkas 20:36, 17 March 2007 (CDT)

I'm just on my way out the door from work. I don't have time to look into it before I leave. If when I get home he's done it some more, I'll take action. (Unless some other admin beats me to it.) --Rainith 20:42, 17 March 2007 (CDT)
