Yeah, just been playing Call of Duty and Castlevania, and also working on gathering armor sets to satiate my OCD. Also been working on various game-related media, not to mention a game. I've been doing quite a bit. RHSig.jpg talk 18:23, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Feed mine tbh. I only need Primeval, EotN and Elite Canthan to complete my Elite Armor Collection (for my Ele, coincidentally :P ) --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 20:34, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Eeh, I'm working on getting at least 2, maybe 3, sets of elite armor for all my little fiends, except my Para, all hes gettin is Norn, because it's all I'll ever accept for a para. RHSig.jpg talk 20:38, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
I only outfit those I actually play often enough with Elite armor (or had played actively (War, Ranger, Monk)). My nec has 2 elite sets, Para 1 (Norn ^^' ), War 1, Monk 2, Ele 10, Rit has 3 pieces, Ranger 1 set. Oh, and I accidentally deleted my Par with a set, too. That hurt... Now I sum up how many Elite sets I have, I feel rich again. And my Ele spoiled to the bone. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 20:44, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Rofl, my tank has 3, my ranger has 3, my ele has 2, the Emperor has 1/2 a set, Funaho has Vabbian, monk has 1, and the Alpha has 1. I've spent a fuckton of money on armor, lol. RHSig.jpg talk 20:48, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
But I spent a fuckton more, hah :P --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 20:51, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, but I'm trying to develop something of a pattern for my core-class chars. I want to get them an elite set from each campaign, like I did with tha Prince. Only reason I didn't do it with the Pimp was that Factions didn't really have any armor that appealed to me. Still, 10 sets on an ele is ... astounding. Well done! RHSig.jpg talk 20:55, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
I see. Interesting. Also, thanks :D Took me quite a while. Got my first set after well over 150 hours (Elite Pyro, I was so happy :P ), and the rest came after NF... Got some nice drops, made some money and suddenly bought 4 new Elite Sets in, like, a week. And since then I've been gathering armor for my Ele. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 21:00, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunate Event(s)[edit source]

I recently contracted a virus whilst downloading some software. I've got a few things back, had to repartition and reformat my main HDD and am working on restoring my old drive architecture to recover as much lost data as possible. I have, unfortunately, lost my GWMap source and will have to recreate that (and possibly more) from scratch. Also, if I cease to contribute, I have lost my internet due to my brother being the victim of a conspiracy against him which has led to his current state of unemployment, leaving my family with only one source of income, which is NOT enough to pay half of our current expenses. With any luck, one of the three of us (me, my bro, or my dad) will get a job before the shit hits the fan, but in case this happens, I want you to know I haven't given up on GuildWiki. ANet has FAILED[edit source]

Sooooooo, I decided to create a character in preburn about 3 hours ago. His name was "Preburn Nigra," a homage to the valiant nigras who, every day, fight for teh lulz. Well, apparently ANet doesn't respect the cause of our valiant nigra crusaders, and decided to banhammer me for 3 days. Sad thing is, it took them 3 fuckin' hours to find out they had a nigra in their ranks. I kid you not, 3 HOURS. What surprises me most is that "nigra" isn't in the name filter, I guess ANet is a bit behind the times, eh?

PROOF

RHSig.jpg talk 13:17, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

On PvX someone had an inaproprate name, and it took ANet >24 hours to find it; he used it in a GvG the day after creation and he got reported for verbal abuse. Then they banned him for that and the name. Screwed up but rather awesome to boot :P You could send an angry (mob )letter to protest ^^ --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 15:02, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Arguing the fact that calling or being called a nigra is, in fact, a show of endearment? RHSig.jpg talk 15:33, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
I don't know. They won't punish you for trying to get unbanned. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 17:10, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
What is a nigra? Felix Omni Signature.png 20:47, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
The internet's elite taskforce; here, I'll give you a short excerpt:

"Nigra, not to be confused with Nigga, is the name given to a member of the internet's elite task force, a pretend race of afro-adorned, suit-clad negroes.

Many often mistake the nigra for the common black man, due to the similar name and identical skin pigmentation. However, its etymology is closer to the non-racist, African-American, 'brotherly' terms of endearment 'nigga' and 'nukka' (if it's a 'spade' calling a 'spade' a 'spade'), both of which have subsequently been 'liberated' from the elitist black lingo-fascists by wiggers, chiggers, jiggers, Tiggers and 'iggers' of all colors.

Furthermore, since the Internets is largely Anonymous and because the term was invented by a /b/tard (a cyber being of indeterminate and irrelevant sex/age/heritage) in the virtual, 'colorblind' environment of Habbo Hotel as a way to say 'nigga' without alerting their dirty word Department of Habboland Security feds, any suggestion that the word 'nigra' is racist is not only completely without merit, it's racist against the inhabitants of the Internets." - Encyclopedia Dramatica RHSig.jpg talk 04:17, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Very Strange Occurrance[edit source]

I logged in today, on mah bro's computer. For some reason, when I checked my posts (just lookin around and whatnot) I noticed that my sig pic had been replaced with a link to the image, in lieu of the image itself. A quick alteration of my sig (using {{}}, then setting it back to [[]]) fixed the problem, it just strikes me as a bit odd, ya know? Maybe wikia needs to learn to code better. Wonder if they're taking applications? lol. RHSig.jpg talk 02:33, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

AAH!! Wikia's Invading Our Talkpages!![edit source]

WTF is up with the new "we're telling you what's going on on your talkpage, now!" box? I realize we can "dismiss" it (aka: GTFO); but really, we have a box at the top of every bloody page, why do they need to invade our talkpages, too?! I swear, one more stupid move on GWiki from Wikia, and I'll be forced to shoop da fuckin whoop. RHSig.jpg talk 13:10, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

It was a bug fix. Those are supposed to be important messages, like notice about impending downtime from MediaWiki upgrade. Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 19:52, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
I realize that, however, they have a box at the top of the page, the one with the suggestion thinger. I'm just sayin, why would they need to take up extra space using a transcluding(?) announcement box on every user's talkpage when they already have what amounts to the exact same thing on every page already, including the talkpages. It seems highly inefficient, is all. RHSig.jpg talk 21:24, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
The suggestion one is ours, and you can also dismiss it. Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 22:26, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Hmm... So it is. Excuse that, then; never really noticed the big words saying "GuildWiki"... I just figured that if it was on the page, and it wasn't part of it, it was Wikia's fault. RHSig.jpg talk 00:18, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

ANet is starting to piss me off, Gaile too[edit source]

Ok, so I log on after not having played in any real capacity for almost a month, I find my beloved Rumpel Pimpskin has been nameblocked. What the hell?! His name is inoffensive, but Gaile says that the word "pimp" isn't allowed in a name, then why the hell didn't ANet complain 2 YEARS AGO when I made the character? Sounds more like someone went and called ANet because they thought of the same name and found out someone else had it and bawwed to support saying it "offended them." What the hell is this shit? I'm not resetting my name just because some moron complained. Gaile even backs up this bullshit! Here's what she said (tl;dr warning):

"I'm sorry that you're upset about the name block. I seem to have to explain this on a regular basis, but I'll try again. Long Answer: We have hundreds of thousands of people playing in any given hour of any given day. There are well over 5 million Guild Wars accounts. People join the game from both genders, a wide variety of languages, and a large number of ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. The word "pimp" is obviously inoffensive to you; but then, judging from the language you used here, your standards of offensiveness and mine have a bit of a gap, and I'm not at all straight-laced. Read up. Think about it. :)
Names cannot be filtered; they're seen by all. So the standards for name blocks are higher than word blocks. Use the word "pimp" (in a context that itself isn't over the top) and I highly doubt you would be blocked. Use the name pimp, and yes, you're going to get blocked. I don't necessarily personally agree with some of the blocks that are placed, but as someone who wants to be "a good citizen of the game" and who wants to show respect to people who are more conservative about word use than I, I will support such blocks for the good of the game community as a whole.
Make good choices: Not only should you not use names that are obviously offensive, you shouldn't tread so close to the line with a name that -- while you find it amusing or clever -- someone else can find unpalatable. And please don't use as a defense "nobody noticed for two years." That's as pointless as saying, "But officer, I speed down this road every day, it must be ok!"
  • Longevity is not a guarantee of acceptability.
  • Not getting caught doesn't mean what you're doing is acceptable.
  • The time-out is short and there's no lasting penalty; rename the character and resume playing after the block expires.
Short answer: "pimp" is disallowed; that's not going to change." -- Gaile Gray

"For the good of the game community as a whole?" What the fuck?! Excuse my language, but this is a bunch of bullshit. The little ditty she gave me about the po-lice is utter shit in this context. ANet isn't as slow as the police, because all this shit is digital! They can search through the entire character database in a few minutes to find this kind of shit! If ANet is that SLOW, what right do they have running a game and trying to enforce such rules to begin with? They're just going to piss people like me off who think up funny, semi-creative names that might offend those non-trolls who frequent such places as Conservapedia, and actually buy into the crap they spew. Who, except some really junked-out ex-hooker, would be offended by the word "pimp?" Especially in such a humorous context? Ugh... ANet has fucked up majorly with this one. RHSig.jpg talk 22:31, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

I can't summon the same level of righteous fury, but I think that offensive words used cleverly are fine, because the laugh factor negates any real implied meaning of racism/sexism/whatever the offensive word implies. (Usually.) I think that ANet does not pre-emptively check for offensive names, they only do it when one is reported to them. Hence probably why you got away for so long. Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 23:07, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
So their "disallowed words" filter is evidently fail. Felix Omni Signature.png 23:11, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
I wonder if "Shith Mal Hacto!" still triggers the chat filter. >.> Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 23:13, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
I think we should boycott ANet for this injustice! Besides, this thing is so old I can't possibly recall who could've been offended by my name, as noone has ever bothered me about it, or bawwed, or shown any signs of butthurt. Quite the opposite; many have laughed and said that it was very original. I wonder if I can find a lawyer who will help me sue ANet for this crap...? I could claim mental scarring and undue suffering! I COULD MAKE MILLIONS!! RHSig.jpg talk 23:28, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Nah, you release them from all psychological liability in the terms of service. Felix Omni Signature.png 23:31, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm sure I could find some convoluted reason to claim a rape charge. RHSig.jpg talk 23:35, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

So I decided to sorta cave in to ANet's idiotic demands, and thusly have renamed the Pimp to Captain Pimpskin. I'd check to see if ANet got butthurt, but I'm training mah spirit speak on my necro so's I can deal omgwtfbbq levels of damage with my spells. Also need to find another 100% LRC armor set. Or make my own... Or something. Love beating the crap outta ogre lords with mah Furies, tho. Watching the big bastards dance never gets old. Neither does the cash.
