This is a fun thing to do, when you got nothing to do :D. Readem (talk*contribs) 12:30, 15 April 2007 (CDT)

Discussion

I prefer ZB. This is just a stronger version of Orison of Healing, there isn't really much that good about it apart from the 1/4 second cast time. Dervish Mazta 00:08, 17 April 2007 (CDT)

Hehe, just wait til Sigma gets on... *Chuckle* Readem (talk*contribs) 00:12, 17 April 2007 (CDT)
I agree with mazta... ZB punks GoL. Works OK on heros tho.—Cheese Cheese Slaya (Talk) 01:00, 17 April 2007 (CDT)
I love GoL!! It's so perfect, orison of healing spam ftw, now it gets even better! —SigmA

Sigmasig2 04:24, 17 April 2007 (CDT)

GoL is fun, but LoD with RoF is better in practice. Its a shame >.> They should do 1 or both of these things:

  • Put it back to 1 sec recharge
  • Reduce Divine Spirit to 5 energy and 45 recharge

Skuld 05:51, 17 April 2007 (CDT)

Sorry but GoL is just inferior to LoD, ZB, mebbe even Blessed Light...don't forget HB too. GoL is exactly like taking another Orison on your bar. Taking both is overkill spammage, taking Orison alone is fairly standard if you're built on healbuffs like Life Attunement, GoL...is Elite Orison...and no room for a buff elite like Aura of Faith. Yeh I know those heal buffs "suck", but they work well with spammage of Orison. In the end GoL's best advantage is that you can cast it in 1/16 of a second, so it does not interrupt /dance emote! Yay! Entropy Sig (T/C) 00:22, 18 April 2007 (CDT)

Synergy

Use it on Tahlkora :D --Gimmethegepgun 20:41, 16 April 2007 (CDT)

Glimmer of Light+ Channeling is good... Readem (talk*contribs) 23:58, 16 April 2007 (CDT)

any monk spell + Channeling is good to be honest...but Channeling is pretty much essential for energy management when using Glimmer of Light. Dervish Mazta 00:10, 17 April 2007 (CDT)
Throw in Divine Boon also, GoL + Divine Favor + DB = somewhere near 200 points heal. Entropy Sig (T/C) 00:22, 18 April 2007 (CDT)

PVP or PVE?

Neither? --Rollerzerris <!--Zerris--> 05:19, 17 April 2007 (CDT)

Glimmer of Light Signet of Devotion Dismiss Condition Pensive Guardian Divine Intervention Spirit Bond Deny Hexes Hex Breaker

^ Soul Wedding's GvG bar. -Auron My Talk 05:30, 17 April 2007 (CDT)

Signet of rejuvanination, not spirit bond. And no-one else should attempt to run this, soul wedding can run anything and be effective because he's awesome. — Skuld 05:32, 17 April 2007 (CDT)
Yeh, had SB for RA, whoops. But meh, it's not that hard to run. He gave this bar for other people to use, it isn't stupidly hard to figure out. It's just... definitely not an american monk bar. -Auron My Talk 05:34, 17 April 2007 (CDT)
You fools with your conventional RC/LoDs! :p
Signet of Removal Reversal of Fortune Dismiss Condition Guardian Protective Spirit Gift of Health Mantra of Inscriptions Ether Signet

PvP skill, noone uses this in PvE. In PvE the fraction-cast time is never really needed (because AI either interrupts you automatically or ignores you; humans in PvP ignore since noone has .25 second reflexes!), WoH is usually sufficient enough until you get to "Elite" areas like DoA and whatnot, ZB is a no-brainer for humans to use, LoD is very nice in PvE as well, esp. areas with environmental damage effects...etc. Entropy Sig (T/C) 00:22, 18 April 2007 (CDT)

Icon?

Looks like the desert :p — Skuld 05:53, 17 April 2007 (CDT)

I think that's a mountain. With the sun coming up, ya know. --Rollerzerris <!--Zerris--> 05:54, 17 April 2007 (CDT)
Surely, it's a glimmer of loght comming from above the dunes. —SigmA

Sigmasig2 12:22, 17 April 2007 (CDT)

Well, it's definitely the sunrise over something... The one in the background looks like a Mountain, the one in the foreground looks like a Dune. --Rollerzerris <!--Zerris--> 13:16, 17 April 2007 (CDT)
It looks like Searing Flames, just monkified!

Contest

To decide the next SoW, I have decided to have a contest. The rules are simple, you must create a build focused around the Elite, Glimmer of Light. However here is the catch, only one user per secondary Profession. So I guess the first ten lucky users, get to choose the the best Proff's first ;)The Builds will be graded on functionality, the most roles, and originality(Bonus:All Builds that do NOT use Me/E/W/A get extra points in the category originality). Besides just being able to pick the next SoW, you will win a custom User Box that I will design to best fit you! The contest will end next Sunday, so make sure your entries are in by then! Readem (talk*contribs) 12:30, 15 April 2007 (CDT) (Participation is not required to contribute)

Just one question, do we make links or do we actually type the builds in this box? For mine, I made a link linking to a build I made on my userpage, just checking that's what you're meant to do. Dervish Mazta 23:31, 16 April 2007 (CDT)
Just give me a link :D. I wasn't going to do this speaking how busy I am making my archive. (Btw, anyone can use it when I am done. It will have every Build on Guild Wiki in the Tested Section) Readem (talk*contribs) 23:57, 16 April 2007 (CDT)
Erm...can I make more than 1? I would have not used Mesmer if you didn't have the Bonus up when I made the build...Dervish Mazta 00:11, 17 April 2007 (CDT)
Sure, the Bonus is worth a maximum of +10 points on a 100 scale rubric. Remember though, fuctionality it extremely important as well. Readem (talk*contribs) 00:15, 17 April 2007 (CDT)
Not sure if the Mo/R one will work too well, but it's worth a shot, I think it's quite good. I do know the Mo/Me one should work, but of course no bonus points >.< Dervish Mazta 00:29, 17 April 2007 (CDT)
There, just made my third GoL build, and to be honest even though it has no energy management it shines above the rest. Rits can heal just as good as monks, combining the two superpowers it in a way (see Spiritual GoL) Dervish Mazta 00:49, 17 April 2007 (CDT)
New rule lol, only 3 per user. Readem (talk*contribs) 17:14, 18 April 2007 (CDT)
Aw, I could have made more...lol. So, which one's winning right now? By the way, has anyone else noticed every build submitted at the time I made this comment uses Signet of Rejuvenation apart from the Mo/E build?Reaper's Sweep Dervish Mazta (Talk)
That's because it's so good after the buff, a ~140 point heal for no energy. Tycn 04:20, 22 April 2007 (CDT)
I know, that's why I used it in all my builds here. By the way, it's Sunday now, so who wins? Reaper's Sweep Dervish Mazta (Talk)
Testing as we speak. Readem (talk*contribs) 14:43, 22 April 2007 (CDT)

1.Mo/W:

Life Bond Balthazar's Spirit Essence Bond Blessed Signet Glimmer of Light Signet of Devotion "Watch Yourself!" Soldier's Defense

Friend of ChaosSbgroup 22:36, 21 April 2007 (CDT)

Hmm, a very interesting Build. Though it doesn't work exactly the way I thought it would, it was still very good.

2.Mo/R:

Glimmer of Light Signet of Devotion Divine Spirit Signet of Rejuvenation Infuse Health Healing Seed Optional Serpent's Quickness

Dervish Mazta

Sorry Matza, found this one a bit to energy costly. It also needs some basic monk utilities. An A+ for effort though :D.

3.Mo/E:

Glimmer of Light Glyph of Lesser Energy Heal Party Heaven's Delight Guardian Aegis Dismiss Condition Resurrection Chant

Stevo101 17:31, 18 April 2007 (CDT)

Found this one a little to repetitive, sorry Stevo. Aegis covers guardian, and Heavens Delight (in my views) was not worth the spot. I love GoLE though :D! GoLE chain ftw!

4.Mo/Me:

Glimmer of Light Signet of Devotion Healing Breeze Signet of Rejuvenation Infuse Health Optional Energy Tap Channeling

Dervish Mazta

I like this Build a lot. It is very supportive of GoL via Channeling. However, I would change some of these skills to one better after recovering after an Infuse (Thus becoming a GvG bar) Gj. Definately one of the better builds.

5.Mo/N:

6.Mo/A:

Glimmer of Light Signet of Rejuvenation Shield of Absorption Protective Spirit Dismiss Condition Holy Veil Return Dark Escape

Tycn 06:09, 17 April 2007 (CDT)

Very nice bar, would drop SoA for DH though. Definately in the top 3.

7.Mo/Rt:

Glimmer of Light Signet of Rejuvenation Infuse Health Spirit Light Recuperation Recovery Life Optional

Dervish Mazta

Sorry, had some serious energy problems. Plus Spir spamming, and healing didn't seem to synergize well O.o... Gj never the less.

8.Mo/P:

Glimmer of Light Guardian Mend Condition Signet of Rejuvenation Signet of Devotion Deny Hexes Divine Spirit Remedy Signet

Skuld 05:43, 17 April 2007 (CDT)

Uh oh, Skulds Build O.o...I like it very much though. Would change RS to MH in a GvG situation though.
What is MH? I'd run LoD in gvg, personally :P — Skuld 15:06, 22 April 2007 (CDT)
"Make Haste!" is the only MH in all of Monk or Paragon skills, so... --Rollerzerris <!--Zerris--> 15:10, 22 April 2007 (CDT)

9.Mo/D:I got dibs on this one... will post soon, kinda late tonight.—Cheese Cheese Slaya (Talk) 01:02, 17 April 2007 (CDT)

N/A

10.M/any:

There are M/any M/any possible builds for this catagory... --Rollerzerris <!--Zerris--> 15:12, 22 April 2007 (CDT)
