Oh, I found another Italian user on Guild Wiki. Hi! --:-) GlennThePaladin (Talk,Contrib) 10:00, 2 June 2007 (CDT)

Ciao! Sotaknuck 08:17, 13 August 2007 (CDT)

So, why do you have 3 necros? (I luuuve necros, and have 3 also, one main and 2 mules, but why do you have 3 fully equipped ones? O_o) RoseOfKali RoseOfKaliSIG 01:00, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Right now i have 4 necros, the page needs updates XD I also have a second ritualist now, and a second warrior XD It's a matter of Role play, and secondarily of game play. Every character is played in a very different way, even if i could simply change the build on a single one to play "as" the other. I associate a different style of play for every character, basing that on the personality that they may have and on their background. They're based on a fixed combo of classes that i never change, even if i could. For example i never used My N/W as a N/M, and i also try to avoud using her death magic skills as much as i can, because "she" doesn't like that line of spells, even if she mastered them all. The game gains something else, it becomes deeper in someway. This is something my crazy mind finds fun, and enjoys a lot. This is in terms of PvE play, obviusly.

I think i have to update the page anyway, with the backgrounds and the missing characters XD Sotaknuck 10:06, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Your Profile

Your characters' skill icons overlap your character images on your profile page. You should try fixing it to make your profile look neater. On a side note, I'd hate to add you as a buddy in-game because all your characters have very complicated names. =_= Anemos1 Anemos 22:58, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Fixing underway...i just need more freetime to spend on it. When i'll write all the backgrounds the builds will not be on the images level anymore. It's just a matter of (free)time XD Sotaknuck 23:20, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
I'd suggest not using the infoboxes for the character images. The infobox only provides four pieces of information, and all four of them are redundant. Name and Profession are already at the top of the character's box, while Species and Level are the same for everyone (all player characters are human, and it's so easy to get a character to L20 that you should only list Level for those that aren't L20). With its informational purpose stripped away, the infobox is really just clutter. If you still want something around the image to set it off a bit - which is what I'm guessing you used it for in the first place - try something like this:
<div style="float:right; clear:all; padding: 3px; margin: 5px; background-color: #f9f9f9;
border: 1px dashed {{X-color|border}}">{{{image}}}</div>
Just replace the 'X' in 'X-color' with the character's profession abbreviation, and {{{image}}} with the actual [[Image:blah.jpg]] link. It will create a thin white margin around the image, with a dashed border in the profession's color scheme around that. You can easily change it to a solid border, if you prefer that, by changing the word 'dashed' to 'solid'. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 00:40, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for the advice. Starting from the div you suggested, i ended up using a table, because i wanted to keep the name over the image just like monsters and other NPC in this wiki, even if redundant...
After a bit of work i made up this code:
<table style="margin: 0 0 0.5em 1em; border-collapse:collapse; float:right; clear:right;
border: 2px solid {{X-color|border}}"  cellpadding="0" rules="all">
<tr><td bgcolor="#ffcc00" style="text-align:center; padding: 1px;"><b>BLA BLA NAME</b></td>
</tr>
<tr><td bgcolor="#f9f9f9" style="text-align:center; padding: 3px;">[[Image:BLA BLA IMAGE.jpg|150px]]</td>
</tr>
</table>
The page looks a lot better now, thanks for the help!
To anyone: feel free to use this around if you like XD Sotaknuck 21:25, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Glad I could help! —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 03:45, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Your Smiters

Enough about page formatting, what I really want to ask you about is your Monks' smiting builds. I just started my second monk character - I deleted the first one after realizing that I suck at healing. So, she's going to be a smiter, and I'm collecting all the build ideas I can find. If you could tell me anything about how those builds work, or especially how well they work, I'd appreciate it. The minion master build looks like it would have huge problems with energy management. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 00:40, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, the first one is just for personal fun, and has some energy problems(i pair her with Livia as a bip). It still works quite well, since Balthazar's aura is used only at the beginning of the game on a warrior, or on the flesh golem. After that it's only a "summon horror -> death nova spam". Symbol of Wrath is there to keep enemies away from you, and Light of Dwayna saved my party countless times, so even if there are better single resurrection skills, that one will stick on Medea forever.
I played along all the 4 games with this build, without problems.
Don't expet to have more than 4 minions at a time using this one. Anyway, since 3 or 4 nova bombs are enough to get rid of most of the pve enemy groups, you should have no problems at all in most of the areas of the game.
The second one on Isa is still a testing build...since she is a rather new character, i'm playing through Propecies gaining skills from quests and i'm improving it playing along. This one has no energy isssues at all, and is quite efficient as it is, so i guess that it will not suffer major changes in the future.
Talking about a strong smiting build, i think that assassin as secondary profession may suit your purpose rather well. The main problem with a smiting build is the recharge time of the skills, and, if not using signets, energy management. Sticking to Assassin's Promise as your elite should remove both problems.
Someting like this:
Resurrect Banish Bane Signet Spear of Light Smite Castigation Signet Scourge Healing Assassin's Promise
Should work just fine in a common pve play. Maybe putting in a self heal from the healing prayers line in place of Scourge Healing, to improve your chance of survival, is not a bad idea.Sotaknuck 12:06, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Wow, except for the last two skills there, that's exactly what I'm using right now! XD
Reversal of Damage Spear of Light Banish Smite Bane Signet Signet of Rage Castigation Signet Resurrect
It does seem like it's working very well, and I haven't had much of a problem with energy on this build. I've tried using Mantra of Inscriptions (replacing Resurrect) to lower the recharge on the signets, and it seems to work great, so I was thinking of using Signet of Judgment as the elite.
Your other builds are interesting, though, and I certainly would never have thought of anything like a monk minion master. I'll copy them down so I can play around with them later. Thanks for the insight! —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 16:24, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

File:Monument_of_Valor_Full_Oppressor's_Display.jpg

Would you mind redoing that screenshot after changing a couple settings?

  • Disable post-processing effects to remove the glare (very noticeable on the shield)
  • Set your interface size to "Small" so the names don't stack on each other (I think that will work)

If you could do that, then it will better match the images for Destroyer and Tormented weapons. Thanks! —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 18:31, October 6, 2010 (UTC)

Uops, sorry, i'm simply in love with my big interface setting XP.
Done, but even with the smallest interface settings letters are a little bigger than those on the other screenshots.

anyway it's better than before, i think. Sotaknuck 10:15, October 7, 2010 (UTC)

Thank you very much! I think your resolution might also have something to do with the text size, but the current version is fine. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 13:04, October 7, 2010 (UTC)

TOTALLY USELESS COMMENT

Yay! I created the 18.500th page of this wiki: Oppressor's Axe! Awesome, right? XD Sotaknuck 11:24, October 7, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, totally cool. And thank you for your help! Arnout aka The Emperors Angel 11:28, October 7, 2010 (UTC)
