Your orange box[edit source]

Seems to mee as taken somewhere in echovald forest, or maybe some part of Sorrow's Furnace :P --Fighterbitsjsig.jpg Wammo--talkpage Fighterbitsj 14:51, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure it's in a dungeon somewhere. It looks really familiar. There's also a similar thing a bit south from Bogroot Growths (maybe it's in there?) near some raptors. I saw it while I was going there and I actually stopped for a few seconds to admire how cool it was.--71.128.201.116 14:53, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Actually now that I think of it, that floating rock in the top right makes it look like the boss room in Rragar's Menagerie. Then again, the dungeon maps are reused so often that I can't be sure.--71.128.201.116 14:55, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
It's defo not in Sorrows. Anyhow I found this pic on the D III fora (linky), and hadn't seen something like it. Want to check it out myself, actually. I'll check out near Bogroot once I get GW working again. Thanks for the tip :) --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 14:56, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
I think it would be in Echovald Forest. I have a character that needs to go through that quest line, so if I see it, I'll tell you. Cress Arvein Cress sig.JPG 16:29, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Viper, it's threads like that that made me stop reading forums :P I would go through Rragar's again to check, since that's where I think it's from, but that's my least favorite dungeon (try doing it in hard mode and you'll see why) and I'm currently playing NWN2 more than Guild Wars. --Macros 22:39, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
I was going to check, too, but then I remembered the room with Flesheater and just said "No".--71.128.201.116 23:10, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

It's tantalizing. Oh and it irked my curiosity since I don't really have anything to do on GW anymore.--71.128.201.116 23:13, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeeahhh... Tantalizing, right... */wiki Tantalizing* "tempting, but beyond reach." Right. So, please elaborate your choise of words here. How is it out of reach for you? --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 23:17, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Because I can't be bothered to do anything at the moment, not even log in. I'm running on caffeine and loud noises to keep me awake. I guess I should reword it but then again I'm too lazy to that, too.--71.128.201.116 23:24, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
I see.. Loud noises, as in music? Or the mashing of your keyboard? :P --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 23:25, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
I would say both but the music is too loud for me to hear the keyboard banging.--71.128.201.116 23:26, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Haha. I wish I could do that... It's 1:27 AM and I don't think other people in this house like to hear Death Metal when they want to sleep (they won't like it when they're awake either, so, yeah... go figure). So, what kind of music do you prefer, Anonman? --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 23:28, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
It's 4.30p here, and on a Saturday, so I'm pretty much the only one home. I prefer Jazz myself but right now I'm just destroying my eardrums over a random compilation of songs on a CD my friend gave to me. To be honest, I hate whatever these songs are but I'm barely awake so it just feels like lots of loud buzzing.--71.128.201.116 23:34, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, whatever takes your fancy :P I can't stand Jazz myself. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 23:36, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

They're collectively called Titan quests. That aside: Meh. I've done Defend Droks on my ele and, yeah, you get a good drop every 15 mobs, but that's really it.. It's also little of a challenge with Heroes. In fact, you can go H/H 'em all. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 14:10, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

moar qinnage[edit source]

So I was reading a strategy forum for the game I'm playing currently and I came across a line describing my favorite unit from my favorite race... "...force arrow just owns pwns qwns the Master Hunter!" And I thought of you and qinning AB. <3 --Shadowcrest 00:57, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Oh my god. That is so hawt. <3<3<3 What game is it, btw? --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 01:01, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
It's describing Arcane archer's ability (Force Arrow) from the Sylvan faction (elves ftw [dark elves would be cool, but they suck]), and it from Heroes of Might and Magic 5:Tribes of the East. (HOMMV is base game, TotE is expansion). It's owned by Ubisoft- same people that made Far Cry I believe, which iirc you enjoyed. --Shadowcrest 01:15, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
They also made the entire Splinter Cell series, which I own the first release of. Which I also enjoyed. Except for the fact I probably sucked as bad as those Dark Elves. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 01:19, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
...Trust me, that isn't possible.
  1. Their units semi-qwn, except for the fact their numbers are pathetic. +3 hydras/week? Nothx. I get more tier 7 dragons as an elf (which is the best tier 7 [and tier 7 is top tier] unit) than they do with their tier 5. Epic fail.
  2. They are tied to destructive magic (which I <3, and it's just retarded the academy [wizards] doesn't have it).. and summoning magic. Summoning, with the excepion of Phoenix (lvl 5 [out of 5]) and Phantom forces (lvl 4, meh), fail. Miserably.
  3. Their lizards are screaming "Let the opponent use puppet master on me so I can pwn my own hydras for you!" Lizards + Puppet > Hydras.
  4. They are so expensive.
  5. Idk wth they were thinking when they designed the resource costs for the Dungeon [dark elves]. They need more crystal than sulfur, and the only way to get a reliable supply of crystals is to get the crystal mine(s), which are usually the most heavily guarded.
  6. All the heroes except Sinitar are bleh. Yrbeth is just stupid (dark magic for dungeon? lolx.), Yrwanna is... blah, Vayshan... assassins ftl. Others aren't worth mentioning.
You probably didn't understand a word, but hey- it was fun ranting. --Shadowcrest 01:33, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
I've played plenty RPGs to understand at least a good deal of it. Anyhow, in SC, I never really got further than the first 2 streets or so. I had to find a precinct (sp?) and I just kept failing cause I shot a civilian evidently. LAter I found out the guy behind the window wasn't holding a sniper, it was a clock (dunno why I confused those). Was kinda epic. And when I got into the precinct, those guards either found me and completely shot me up (along with most of the building I think), or I didn't know where the ehck to go. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 02:16, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi[edit source]

It took nearly a week to get internet working here.. We have a laptop with wireless internet but the connection is just crap, and when after 2 days it worked lightning struck and the connection was blown apart again. So 5 days without internet (not that I'm complaining, that's what it's holiday for). After complaining at the park's management my mom got €10,- back, and after complaining another time she got all the money back for 2 weeks internet. So there's €10,- profit, she bought a cable of it and now we finally got internet here! Rejoice! I'll be checking in every now and again here.

Stupid monthly fucking our predictions over, too. Glad I put rawr on 1 though, but look at all those forfeits! And I thought I was the only one with internet problems. So anyway I got one more week here, weather's fantastic, we got a lot of mosquito's though. Had about 4 near sleepless nights because of all the thunder, mosquito's and heat, and that's about the end of my rant. So cheers! --Progr.jpg - talk 10:30, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

I've been playing a lot of Median. Built up a sin to lv98 in, what, 5 days? :P Great fun. I wanna show you some uberlvls and the Cow lvl (it's even more epic now). Khalimgrad is laggfest for me... Doesn't take away from the fun in seeing all those Ethereals die, though ^^

GW:QDV? You're too kind. Clearly this person has too much time on their hands and not enough creative outputs for it. Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 13:51, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Last time I acted against a vandal Mendel tried to convince me to be more kind. So, I did. Logics is bad. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 13:54, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
"QDV is always nagging a bit. If it is a malicious vandal, and you go to the talk page because you think he's sandboxing( after seeing 1 or 2 edits), you get slapped on the wrists with QDV." Found it... --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 13:57, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
"So the procedure actually outlined in GW:QDV is, assume good faith, give them a friendly hint, and if they persist being disruptive, then go and QDV away. --◄mendel► 16:43, 24 July 2008 (UTC)"
...which the user did. You had already given a sandboxy warning but he decided to take it from there. Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 14:03, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
The last edit he made to Light of Deldrimor template was reverting his vandalism to that page (resetting Energy cost, recharge and removing "nice skill"). --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 14:05, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
To paraphrase and take the situation way out of context, "The assassin cannot sanctify his dagger simply because he prays on holy ground" (Robert G. Ingersoll). What I mean to say is that even if the user has gone back and reverted all their things (which is nice), that still does not totally excuse them. It's like if a vandal or troll went on a spree and then reverted all the changes; it would be wise to ban them anyways, if only for spamming RC. They know what they did was wrong, but they did it anyway and tried to make amends after the fact. "Show preview" and "Think before posting" etc...You had already warned the user but it seems they chose to ignore you. I failed to see evidence of Good Faith at the LoD edits.
...you know what? We are arguing over something which is totally pointless. I am sorry that I brought it up, since there really was no reason to. Maybe you would have left me a message, I don't know. Anyways I am sure that the anon will forget all about this place by tomorrow. I don't think that my actions were so severe as to permanently turn them away either. Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 14:27, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Oh, don't be so hard on yourself. I'm not reasoning very well myself...one should avoid taking administrative actions when tired. And always remember that every single one of us is "messed up" in some way or other. In fact, it's usually something quite major. But we learn to deal with or hide these defects and life goes on. Our shared defectiveness is what enables us to function as a society, or at least that's what I think...Rock-Paper-Scissors again, eh? Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 15:01, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Don't you believe in the Eternal Alchemy? In the end humanity is perfectly balanced, just like Rock Paper Scissors. You just need to adjust your viewpoint - it's hard when you are part of the picture, so to speak. "And this, too, shall come to pass." You know what works well for drowning sorrows? Tying bricks to them. ...No, seriously though, remember that the mind, the body, and the heart/soul are all interconnected, and a change in one will spark a change in others. You may not be able to control your emotions; and you may not be able to make yourself "feel" better; but certainly you have the mental power to change your way of thinking. Some people call it "psyching yourself up", in a derogatory manner. But you know what? It works. When you force yourself to smile, even when you're sad, it helps towards making you happy again.
But then again you're not everyone, Auron. I wish there were more of you, too, but "A thousand hands clasped in prayer are nothing to a pair at work" as they say. The rest of us just have to get to bed eventually. (I guess Auron and stimulants go good together?) Entropy Sig.jpg (T/C) 15:14, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Rock-Paper-Scissors is in a perfect balance because there's 1 counter, 1 equal and 1 weak against whatever you choose. However, that's not true for humanity. For one, because you cannot choose who you are, what you will be and what you get.
If you could choose, people won't be dieing from aids, tyfus and cancer. Why would they? However, in reality, it just depends on your luck. If you happen to live in a steady land, like us, you won't be infected by tyfus or aids as easy as in, say, Southern Africa.
I can't even understand most emotions. How am I to control them in just the slightest bit? I do force myself to stay at least slightly cheered up. It's because I am supressing my depression. But does it make me happy? Meh. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 15:22, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

summary for new section[edit source]

I know you enjoy using a section edit link for an old section to create a new one, e.g. here. This makes the summary somewhat misleading, especially as you often don't type anything in that anyway. What I like to do when I do it that way is to edit the /* section name */ in the summary to reflect the /* new name */, adding a (new section) when I am feeling generous. But simply doing a copy-paste from the edit window for the section name does a lot when I want to figure out who wrote where. --◄mendel► 23:48, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Stop corrupting everybody's talkpage habits! Next you'll be wanting us to put concise summaries of our edits in the edit summary!Entrea SumataeEntrea [Talk] 01:34, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Or wanting us to fill sections with actually relevant info instead of getting to "PIE!" within 3 posts --Gimmethegepgun 01:49, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Nah, I've learned to live without summaries and with the PIE!, but the wrong section name means I'll be looking at half a dozen pie posts on a talk page in RC, think "I'll go read those later", and miss that one of these was really a new section that I might want to examine, even if the name doesn't come close to describing the topic sometimes ("lulz", "why?", "did you know", "hey", "nice", "pfft" come to mind). --◄mendel► 02:38, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
I always use diff or compare revisions for that reason. --Shadowcrest 03:00, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, for me, that depends. Single changes are good to view as diffs, but when I've been on an editing job and come back to my watchlist/RC to find an active talkpage with half a dozen short messages, I usually read those by clicking on the section link. I'll see any new sections below that at this point, but that point may be delayed as I may have skipped that talk for more "work". I can examined the post that starts a new section earlier and as a diff when I know which one it is. --◄mendel► 03:21, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
If big tags worked in edit summaries, I'd use them to make sure you saw I was making a new header, with an incorrect summary. Other than that: I've changed the name a few times lately. Just not all that often ^^' I forget it usually, cause I habitually just leave the summary as-is. Well, for talk page edits. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 08:10, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
I don't need no stinkin' big tags - when I edit a page to add a new section (on articles, for example), I add both the new section name and the "(new section)" that Mediawiki likes to use. But yeah, <verybig>Mendel, have you seen my new section?</verybig> would do nicely if it worked... --◄mendel► 09:56, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
MediaWiki likes to use (new section) because we told it to, I think. I could change it to "Look Mendel, a new header for you to inspect! → /* Header Name */!", but I don't think I should :P --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 10:02, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

What adrenaline attack skills hit multiple people besides Whirlwind attack? --Shadowcrest 04:25, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

You mean to say that Attacks multiple times skills quick reference is incomplete? --◄mendel► 07:28, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
I've been looking at Adrenaline skills quick reference. Earth Shaker knocks multiple foes down. Holy Spear works if it hits a minion or spirit. Now it's your turn to examine the August 7th game update for skills missing from these lists.
Btw, what's wrong with using GuildWiki:Request assistance? --◄mendel► 07:38, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Shadowcrest assumes I skip sleep every day (he asked that around 6 AM...) and know exactly every skill by heart? Idk O_o Anyways, it ends with Whirlwind Attack. Erf Shakurr only hits your target, but knocks down every adjacent foe.
Holy Spear itself doesn't hit multiple foes :P
But, if you wanna spam AoE attacks, go W/D with Warrior's Endurance and Eremites/Mystic/Whirlwind attack and spam your heart out.--- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 09:18, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Actually, it isn't. Incendiary arrows. But when I asked I didn't know that (AmtsQR) existed. And I already looked at Adren skills QR, and found only Earthshaker, Yeti Smash, and Holy spear (besides whirlwind).
I asked here because Viper removed what I saw as a perfectly valid (and accurate, which he said it wasn't) note.
Earthshaker doesn't hit more than one person, so you wouldn't use it with a zealous weapon to gain energy like you would with whirlwind. nor does holy spear, or yeti smash, which I also checked to be sure.
And I didn't ask you to reply immediately- I wouldn't even have minded if you hadn't responded until tomorrow. I asked you at 12:25 my time, which, if we shared a time zone, is a perfectly reasonable time to ask another 15 yr-old male during summer break a question on a wiki, if you ask me :P --Shadowcrest 16:34, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
IA is Energy, smartass. Other than that: Point me to the edit, since I cannot seem to find it in my past 75 mainspace contribs and cba looking any further. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 16:40, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
IA doesn't matter. Attacks multiple times skills quick reference? I see no adrenaline in the title. Smartass. here. --Shadowcrest 16:48, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
"Actually, it isn't. Incendiary arrows" I only responded to you. Also, the note stated "multiple hit attack" -> Sun and Moon Slash. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 16:52, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
...I don't get it. Attacks multiple times skills quick reference isn't complete, it needs incendiary. I fail to see how I'm not correct, even if you did only respond to me. And then you win the other argument by wording, though I would still like to re-add the note (with a word change). --Shadowcrest 16:57, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Sorry if I sound harsh, in advance.
I already added IA.
That quote I gave was what you said, don't ask me what you mean by it. Still, we were talking about Adrenaline attacks, and you say IA. Which costs Energy, not Adrenaline. I linked them so you can look em up if you forgot the difference or something...
Have fun readding the note, tbh. I don't mind. But the note as it was, was incorrect, and I thus had a reason to remove a note I feel is redundant. --- Ohaider!-- (s)talkpage 17:01, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
