A green dot is an ally; allied characters, friendly NPCs, and summoned creatures appear on the compass as either small green circles or triangles.
The term may also be used to refer to someone in the game who runs ahead of the group before the rest of the group is ready or able to do so. In this usage, the green dot usually is someone who plays faster than other players and assumes that everyone is keeping up with them.
