General
Old Joness is the boatman found in the southeast corner of Tangle Root at the start of the Ullen River, right next to a statue of Melandru.
He is an old man who has worked along the river for many years. Edgar, his son has recently been murdered by the White Mantle for speaking against them, embittering Old Joness towards the organization.
In the quest Passage Through The Dark River, players prove to Old Joness their opposition to the Mantle and obtain his assistance in ferrying them along the river to the Riverside Province.

- It is possible that he is a member of the Shining Blade since Shadow seems to know him well, but it is only implied. He could very well just be a sympathizer.
- If you talk to him, after a few answers, you will be teleported to Riverside Province. Be careful if you are vanquishing.
