There are 3 types of Rats in Guild Wars; The Regular NPC Rat (this page), the Jahai Rat, and the Albino Rat.
NPC Rats appeared in Kamadan, Kaineng Center and Lion's Arch prior to the release of Guild Wars: Eye of the North along with Oozes. Depending on the town, either Shorewatcher Reserve (Kamadan), Ministry Maintenance Worker (Kaineng Center), or Lionguard Reserve (Lion's Arch) also appeared. The NPC Rat could not be interacted with in any way, and followed a set path. They were similar in appearance to Jahai Rats and Albino Rats.
