"Lo and behold, traveler! Watch your step! Grenth has breached the divide between the planes in a bid for victory in this year's Wintersday battle. In doing so, he has unwittingly allowed those from this realm to pass into the Underworld freely. It is my duty to provide passage to those of stout heart and mind...or those foolish enough to think themselves worthy. Which are you?"

Notes

Historical note: Originally, Rift Wardens appeared in the first round of the Global Tournament, where killing them would give the party a Morale Boost. In the June 26, 2005, game update, they were replaced by the Unworthy, and later by the Zaishen Elite.
