Challenge[]

So basically LDoA is simple now... So much for wasted months of DLing... Flexi 21:05, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Deathleveling was simple as well (stand in front of Charr, die, res, die, res (x50), murder the lv15, repeat), just not feasible for a lot of people. --Vipermagi 21:06, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
The quests don't give all that much experience (yesterday's was 1k for my char at L12), and you can only do 1 per day. At that rate, it's still going to take 3 months for me to reach L20. —Dr Ishmael Diablo the chicken 21:30, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
It's certainly easier, but not faster, you only get 1.1k or so exp each day from the quest and monster kills.--Łô√ë Gigathrash sig Gîğá†ħŕášħ 21:39, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Not necessarily. You can take the quest, kill the mobs, then abandon it and kill the mobs over and over again. (Then turn in the quest when you're done farming.) Cress Arvein Cress sig 21:42, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Death leveling is easier, it just takes a ton of in-game time. This way it still takes a lot of time, but less in game time, and its more intuitive. And as ANet puts it, "After all, do you really feel like a Legendary Defender of Ascalon after letting the charr kill you endlessly?" --Kirbman sig Kirbman 19:36, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Survivor and LDoA[]

so both titles can be earned? -bottle 03:42, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Yes, and with the changes in Survivor, you can do both even if you die.Valkor Dreamling 04:26, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Different Levels[]

The enemies levels scale up with your character, but intervally, not continualy. Would be helpful to get that information on here somewhere, what I know so-far:

10, 11, 12, 13 (level 8)
14, 15, 16 (level 11)
17, 18, 19, 20 (level 15) 77.86.90.87 12:11, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

10 and 20 are correct where they are, there are 3 levels of monsters. The special ones who are the target of the quest are usually higher. –aRTy 00:14, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, should we add the "boss" levels too? 77.86.90.87 12:11, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
Edit: Boss levels are 9, 12 and 16 respectively. 77.86.90.87 18:05, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
Countess Nadya was level 10 (and the others indeed level 8) for my level 12 character83.81.245.78 08:23, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
Edit: single bosses (with aura) were level 10, mltiple bosses (charr champions and undead necromancers) were level 9 83.81.245.78 14:47, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Update - No more Quest Monkeys[]

Looks like there's now a anti-quest monkey mod on the quests... Had to have a lvl 17 with me to do a quest that was over the wall. Bringing a lvl 7 who then mapped out wasn't any good. DOn't know where a lvl 10 would fit in the mix, or a lvl 17 without the quest. 174.29.240.12 05:09, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

It's not just the same as it was before, but the enemies are scaled to the level of the lowest player, instead of thie highest one. 87.102.118.195 16:49, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
As far as going over the wall is concerned low-level gate monkies can map out BEFORE you go through the portal and the baddies will spawn according to your level. Just make sure you go through the first gate before the gate monkey maps out. In other words, as soon as the GM pulls the lever the GM can map out. But again make sure you go through the first gate, but not the portal, before the GM maps out.98.193.140.14 03:05, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
pro's and people not trusting the GM's, did that before the invention of the quest monkey. Due to a lack of Z-axis, you can talk or trade with the GM on top of the bridge, while you are in the tunnel. Arnout aka The Emperors Angel 10:00, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Imbalanced classes?[]

I've not played as all 6 classes in pre to high levels, but as a necro, the vanguard quests are impossible, litterally any enemy with a healing skill; orison of healing, heal sig, ether feast or blood renewal turns the fight into a stalemate unless your imp is present. I've had to wait hours summoning sickness to disperse, just so I could kill the last enemy for the quest, so i can start the next day's one. Where as a ranger I can kill everything in 2/3 shots before they get a chance to heal even though the ranger has a smaller level advantage over the mobs. I know different classes are used for different things, but to make LDoA Extremely easy for some, and Impossible for others just annoys me. 87.102.118.195 16:49, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
I am not trying to flame, so please don't take this the wrong way. I have found that the necro is easy on the Vanguard quests. Hitting the target with Life Siphon, Deathly Swarm, and Vampiric Gaze usually puts a bind on them. Run in for the Touch for the kill if necessary. It all comes down to how you use the pre skills, I suppose. It doesn't hurt to have secondary ranger with a well-levelled pet and Troll Unguent in emergencies, and of course the imp. ;)98.193.140.14 02:58, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
First poster: What level necro were you using? I've not had any trouble with my necro, but she's only level 12 so far and I was wondering if the higher level mobs are the ones that are more problematic? Jink 03:10, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
Higher levels will be harder, enemies will gain 20hp per level (unless it's different form other mobs) and whereas you almost get an attribute rank per level at low levels (<10) you'll only get one every few levels when you get higher. So enemies defense increases faster than your offense, if that makes sense. — Viruzzz 03:45, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
