Bone Fiends

Has anyone tested that bone fiends will strike foes under the effects of this Spirit with more damage? - Chrisworld 23:00, 11 February 2007 (CST)

Test confirmed using Dual MM's summoning only Bone Fiends. A moderate damage-per-second increase noted against standard mobs and a very Significant increase against Heavy-Armor...2-3x the damage in some cases. Damage recieved due to it is negligible as long as you're not facing a Zerg army of enemy Rangers/Paragons/Dervishes. (to maximize Summonings, I'd recommend combining with Energizing Wind) --ilrDervish

Damage Type

untyped? Untyped Physical? Phool 14:46, 6 March 2007 (CST)

i.e. does the extra damage trigger mark of pain? Phool 15:11, 10 April 2007 (CDT)
All attacks that trigger winnowing will obviously also trigger Mark of Pain and vice versa, but since the extra damage is part of the same packet (if I'm not mistaken) there won't be any interaction. A.Saturnus 07:09, 6 September 2007 (CDT)
It's completely untyped, and the damage is dealt on a separate packet. Also, the game counts the spirit as doing the damage, but shows you the end result if I'm not mistaken, as if it were one packet.
I.E. If you hit an enemy for 70 damage (without Winnowing) in your screen it will say "-74", while in the opponent's screen it will show "-70" "-4 (Winnowing)". I know, it's weird, but that's how I remember it working. Zulu Inuoe 07:25, 6 September 2007 (CDT)

Note removal

"quite essential" is quite incorrect wording + it's not "quite" "essential" for the build anyway + there is no linked "build" to speak of, so the note simply hangs there in zero gravity. --LazyeyesIshmaeel .ping( ) ; .peek( ); 07:43, 24 May 2007 (CDT)

Spirits

Do spirits attacks count as "physical" attacks per say or are their projectiles a kind of spell technically? - I'm just trying work out if the life-stealling hits from Vampirism or Bloodsong could have another 4 points of unresistable damage tacked on from this ability. --85.62.18.3 02:03, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Last Edit

Lets see... First off the statement that trappers have no spare skill slots is opinion, I take winnowing alot. List of skills traps that trigger Winnowing: Viper's Nest, Barbed Trap, Piercing Trap, Spike Trap, Tripwire. I think the note was mostly viable. -- Isk8 Sk8 (T/C) 17:48, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

I have never seen any trapping build with Winnowing. :/ Using it along traps is also an opinion. It probably had some benefits for physical-heavy teams like past IWAY, but alone with trap skills.... nahh. J Striker 17:54, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
